This isn't as much of a problem for pro headphones; it's the nutty audiophiles who waste their time with aftermarket cables, not the people actually making the music who use these headphones. The DT1770 Pro were comfortable, but not in the same league as the offerings from MrSpeakers. Compared to the headphones I presently have, they were equal to the K7XX, inferior to the HD800, superior to the LCD-3f. I wasn't a fan of the supplied pads, a little on the thin side. Trivially easy to drive at 250Ω. Work just as well plugged into an iPhone as they do with a dedicated amplifier like my Benchmark DAC1 HDR. Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro are the most enjoyable headphones among the closed headphones mentioned above and they have the best sound quality. I can listen to them for hours. These feel quite basic. The earpads, while fuzzy, are still a bit hard and narrow — harder than the wonderfully softer and wider ones on the DT700PROX.

There is a musical dimension with the DT 1770 PRO but for me, the musicality of the DT 1770 PRO is not the same as say a Meze 99 Classic. They are dipped in some ways with a recessed mid-range but there is a bit of separation also from bass to mid-transition which makes it more suitable for EDM monitoring and just having some fun listening to genres of that ilk in general.

I am also presuming (ahead of testing) that it will be tuned for specific monitoring purposes (EDM) and as such neutral heads may find it colored in specific areas to do that job accurately rather than a general-purpose reference sound. Als kleiner Tipp: Wenn der Aufziehstreifen der Pads schon leicht ausgedehnt ist und man sie deshalb nicht mehr gut aufziehen kann, hilft es sie leicht anzuföhnen. The cups are made of plastic which had me fooled as I was thinking of a light-weight metal. In respect to the Pro-line the fit is comfortable and tight.
