what is the difference in a1 as against a 2 way switch. can I use a 2 way switch instead of a 1 way switch.

Took of bottom half of pull cord bathroom switch. Only 2 wires both brown came out when I took bottom off. Do I need to know which cable goes in where? Now you are ready to install your new pull cord switch. Before you disconnect any wires always test the wires and make sure that they are not live – you don’t know who installed it and if it’s installed properly so it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Undo the screws on your new switch where the wires will go – feed the main cable through the base and screw the base into the ceiling. Now you can connect the wires – just make sure you tighten the screws properly and if the earth wire is present that you put a sleeve on it and connect it to its place on the base plate.
