Description

A storied military historian and peerless tactician, Lord Solar Leontus is solely responsible for safeguarding the most sacred Segmentum in the entire galaxy – with minor assistance from a cadre of advisors numbering in the hundreds. He will at times deem it necessary to personally strike out beyond the technical remit of the Solar Segmentum, to better protect Holy Terra itself – and where the Lord Solar commands, you must go. Outside battle, however, he endures a weariness of spirit, privately appalled at the horrors he sees constantly perpetrated by the Imperium upon its own people. He has authorised many himself, having sent millions of guardsmen into the most terrifying conditions, but Leontus sees such steps as distasteful necessities on a path to ultimate salvation for Humanity. With grim pragmatism, the old soldier knows he will not see the hoped-for destination of his works. For him, it is enough that he paves the way. He would never gainsay Primarch Roboute Guilliman's directives, but within their parameters Leontus has emerged victorious from many political battles with planetary governors, Navis Imperialis admirals and Officio Logisticarum adepts. With the aid of entire corps of strategic advisers, cloisters of priests and a personally maintained stable of psychic seers, prophets and Emperor's Tarot readers known as the Collegiate Astrolex, Leontus has masterminded hundreds of stunning victories.

You then make a Charge roll for the charging unit by rolling 2D6. The result is the maximum number of inches each model in that unit can be moved if a Charge move is possible. For a Charge move to be possible, the Charge roll must be sufficient to enable the charging unit to end that move: Macharius - Macharius was the lord commander solar, the supreme military commander of the Imperium's Segmentum Solar and one of the High Lords of Terra, who is also perhaps the most famous commander of the Astra Militarum. Granted the rank of warmaster by the Senatorum Imperialis, he undertook the Macharian Conquests, also called the Macharian Crusade, of 392-399.M41, which in only seven standard years added nearly 1,000 new worlds to the Imperium at the very edge of the Milky Way Galaxy in the Segmentum Pacificus. He was also later canonised as a saint of the Imperial Cult by the Ecclesiarchy. Warhammer Community - Lead the Astra Militarum From the Front With the Legendary Lord Solar Leontus. Those soldiers blessed enough to be charged with defending the Segmentum Solar – home to the numinous Throneworld and our almighty God-Emperor – fall exclusively under the command of the Lord Commander Solar. A storied title of immense import, this singular honour is currently held by one Arcadian Leontus.Though Leontus' remit technically ends at the boundaries of the Segmentum Solar, he had led several campaigns beyond. The Lord Commander Solar sees the myths of his predecessor Saint Macharius as precedent for this; if prosecuting distant wars will protect Terra, Leontus will not shirk from such duty.

It is common to refer to each of the lord commanders by the name of the segmentum which they lead, i.e. lord commander solar, lord commander tempestus, lord commander obscurus, etc. The rank also has variant titles which have been used by some of its holders, such as "lord high general." Precedent for these preemptive defensive excursions is said to have been set by the legendary Saint Macharius. A Lord Commander Solar, a Warmaster, and a hero, Macharius conquered 1,000 planets in a mere seven years – and fell to his knees and wept when his troops would not follow him into the void.* Shortly after, he [redacted] , and his soul ascended to its rightful place beside the Emperor.Though he’s kept at his physical peak by a healthy diet, regular exercise, and staggeringly expensive rejuvenat treatments, Leontus has spent over a century leading the Emperor’s armies. Armed with his pistol Sol's Righteous Gaze, his power sword Conquest and his Cyborg horse Konstantin, Leontus maintains a formidable prowess despite his age. However, while he is kept at his physical peak by a healthy diet, regular exercise, and staggeringly expensive Rejuvenat treatments, Leontus is wearied by the horrors of war and the Imperium's brutality. While privately distressed by the Imperium's brutal necessities, he has nonetheless overseen many such actions himself. The Lord Commander Solar knows that he may never see the fruits of his tireless efforts, but nevertheless, he continues to lead from the front against the Imperium's foes. [1] We don’t learn much from GW’s Monday previewabout Leontus’ in-game rules, except for one– The Collegiate Astrolex– which gives armies led by him a strong strategic buff, right out the gate: either you can amend one of your Secondary Objective choices after your opponent chooses theirs; or you can simply nab an extra Command Point at the start of the game. Tasty stuff. Zuhlke - Zuehlke was a lord commander of the Astra Militarum and the original tactical commander of the Imperial forces engaged in the Siege of Vraks. Slow and cautious, the siege proceeded at a snail's pace and resulted in high casualties under his command. However, when the arrival of Chaos Space Marine warbands on Vraks routed the forces under his command, Zuehlke was replaced as overall commander of the siege by Marshal Amim Kargori of the Astra Militarum. Wearied by the horrors of war and the Imperium’s brutal demands, the Lord Solar knows that he may never see the fruits of his tireless efforts. Nevertheless, he continues to lead from the front – armed with his pistol Sol’s Righteous Gaze , and his power sword Conquest .
