Description

Specifically pre-programmed for Land Rover and Jaguar vehicles. It supports full system diagnosis and is a powerful DIY tool enabling owners and technicians to accurately diagnose complex problems. The iCarsoft TF930 is a professional vehicle fault diagnostic tool developed by iCarsoft Technology Inc. So after playing around with the commands to configure the reader and all working well - I then tried to get some info from the car! Every command I typed in got "Unable to Connect" - meaning the ODBII reader couldn't talk to the Freelander - bugger!

View & Graph Live Data in Color Graphing and blazing fast refresh rate for better graphing and live data readings. Arrived today and eagerly plugged it in. Took me a few attempts after playing around with it but I'm happy to say it cleared all the lights. Yeehaw!!! The ABS light stay on until I moved the landy a couple of feet and at first I thought the fault was still there. On reading about it though, this would appear normal and the car need to move so the sensor car tell it's rotating. I have a 1999 1.8K series Freelander by the way. Supports ALL 10 test modes of the latest J1979 OBD II test specs, including MIL, Live Data, Freeze Frame, I/M Readiness, O2 Monitoring/Testing, Vehicle/VIN Information Having said all that, Hawkeyes and Nanocoms are well respected, and the Hawkeye Total's vehicle compatibility list looks especially tasty, even if it's clunky to use in comparison to the Lynx. I thought I'd be smart and removed the bulbs from the dash and popped it in for an mot but inspector failed it for not having the tell tale warning lamp illuminated prior to starting engine....grrrrr!

Reasons Why: (1) AutoCom provides on average 40% more information then iCarsoft i930 scanner, (2) It has much wider car model compatibility, and (3) It's software/firmware is consistently updated with new car models. According to Britpart support, there's currently no user manual for the Lynx Evo, so I'm fumbling around trying to use a somewhat clunky phone app. Things may improve, but they really shouldn't be selling the product before they put together a manual. Because it's such a new product, there are few other people out there who have any experience with it. instead, through our extensive field testing and comparison — we recommend AutoCom which is far superior and in similar price range. Learn more about it here. OK, we've bought the Lynx Evo, and I'm leaving this as a note for anyone interested in this diagnostics system: Now probably isn't the time to get the Lynx Evo – I've just learned the hard way.

iCarsoft i930 is already used and endorsed by professional Land Rover car shops, garage owners, mechanics and car dealers around the world. And now you too are about to own the same scan tool and have total peace of mind over your Land Rover vehicle(s). I want to create some bespoke software, so I'm going to persevere with this little device and hopefully I can get it talking OK. But it will take some time. Here's the Lynx compatibility chart for Discovery 2's: http://www.lynx-diagnostics.com/land-rover-coverage/discovery-2/ I'm confident it will talk to the Freelander, I probably need to tell it which protocol to use or something. I'm also confident it will talk to other modules, not just the engine, as the i930 can. I presume the tablet (Android/Apple) software would communicate with the reader easier as well. You have free unlimited support for next 3 years with using this product: We know this tool inside-out because we're car mechanics and use it ourselves to work on customer cars. And this experience is passed onto you when you're dealing with our support. More importantly, we're here to stay as Total Car Diagnostics is a serious established operation with too many companies relying on our 30+ years of combined mechanical/technical experience. We're not going anywhere.
