I think maybe at the time i just wasn't ready for this masterpiece to be mine, I didn't appreciate the beauty in its golden vintage style liquid. Over the last year ive wasted more money on failed blind buys than anyone will ever know, i think trying to figure out what fragrance i can call my own; my signature style. And i have gravitated towards pradas infusion d'iris line for so long now that i think this one is it, my special scent that just fits. Ive always loved fragrances that were thought to be ' too old' for me, aldehydic, chypre scents but didnt think i was ready for them yet so I would try wearing the age appropriate fruitchoulis, the gourmands.. and all the things can tolerate but dont really love.

I do agree there is a splash of Prada Candy added to this. (And a hint of Shalimar Parfum Intial EDP)Infusion is one of those smells that I just want everywhere, I want my sheets, towels, clothes, skin, hair, to smell of this. To choose to wear a perfume is to enter a relationship; and this is the mother of all relationships: the relationship with my mother I mean ;) Lingers on my skin for more than 10 hours but after the first few hours, it's already barely detectable by the people around you. A very low-key scent. Leaves a fleeting trail, noticeable but not overwhelming. It may be dark, but it's not loud--it does not wear like an "Absolue" for those that think it will be stronger than the original, think again--it wears next to the skin, but has excellent longevity. For all its woody incense musky darkness, it is a perfectly safe scent--it's not really daring at all.

It holds to my skin a thousand times better than the origional and it is rather masculine in comparison, but it is weirdly feminine at the same time. Ther iris infusion line is my favourite of all fragrances; Prada uses ingredients of the highest quality, usually as much as i love them, anything TOO powdery can give me a bit of a headache but Infusion d' iris and all her relatives are extremely easy to wear. I enjoy the iris although, since my garden has several varieties of iris, incl. the purple one, I can tell you the "iris" in this iris is very synthetic. I wish it was more realistic. Other than that, cedar, galbanum, vetiver, and maybe bergamot. No oranges to my nose. The barely noticeable rose gives the aroma a noble feel. The warmth is provided by vanilla and ambergris. Although the scent is a little powdered, it never feels dry or dusty. Its aroma captivates you long after the initial spray and is sophisticated, stylish, and elegant. Prada Infusion D'Iris is just beautiful! Cozy, clean, fresh, fluffy - feels like what I imagine a cloud to smell like. Nothing sweet here, I smell no vanilla or tonka at all. I've owned the other EDT and EDP versions, loved them as well from first-sniff but kept having issues with longevity. Now having more experience with iris and neroli centered fragrances I understand that longevity, even from the most expensive houses, is actually really good at 4 hrs simply given the nature of these ingredients. They just aren't the type of flowers that have monster sillage anyway and in perfume, they won't have that last-forever longevity. I can appreciate that now! And I certainly don't mind re-applying, I can do so all day long and never tire of it! 😊 ❤️ HOWEVER, I just can't feel comfortable blowing through bottles and spending more money to keep replacing them...

That said, it's worth a sniff for those that like the original, I have a bottle of Absolue and I enjoy it quite a bit. The note pyramid mostly tells you all you need to know, since they pulled half the notes out. The former mandarin/orange topnotes are gone, and boy do I miss them a lot. Id’I is one of my favorite perfumes, and though the orange topnotes last only a minute or two, when I first apply the perfume, it just lets me happily anticipate what’s coming, like, “Yeah, this is ON!!” If you know what I mean.
