Description

Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example. There was a lot of repetition as Sakakibara went over his own circular thoughts and the events and at times, I actually thought I was reading the same page again.

The camaraderie of the group is beautifully described, while the underlying message of acceptance and celebration of difference is also much to be celebrated. So if you're a reader who's all about action and mayhem and doesn't want to read a book that has 150 pages of description and unanswered questions then this isn't the book for you. Surprisingly, some of the people who went on to read her book even thought it had been written by the bestselling author of horror and suspense and left reviews praising his new ‘warm’ style! The pictures made me think of a combination of Salvador Dali’s paintings mixed with Willie Wonka’s chocolate factory.Noble Rot has become a place of pilgrimage for wine worshippers worldwide, a buzzing and welcoming scene that sees everyone from wine buffs and collectors to film and rock stars hanging out with the vignerons and chefs who flock to the place. It is not a complete free-for-all and there are certain rules that govern what you can and can’t do.

We got to chat about how much we equally love and hate reality TV, the beautiful Welsh language and her fantastic new book, A Game of Lies. What was so great was that colored spheres led to more of the same and where there was one there was soon another. She follows, only to discover that there is a secret world where everyone has an alternate version of themselves. There are elements of culture and events that the non-Japanese person or anime fan will miss unless they spend a bit of time googling, but I didn't find this enough of an issue to deter me.

Your words, like your reviews, bring books to life and give them a voice before the front cover is even turned.

I give Another 3 stars not because I don't enjoy it, but merely because I had read far better novels by Yukito Ayatsuji than this one. Because I believe we usually get more out of wordless picture books when we read them with children. It was a tunnel that turned into another tunnel; with a girl that loved color and her cat crawling into the new tunnel to find another her with another room and another cat and more tunnels! A huge thank you to WF Howes, who have kindly provided the first chapter of the LILITH audiobook, which is included at the end of this episode - enjoy! The youngest viewers may enjoy decoding the girl’s journey with some adult assistance, while more book-savvy kids will get a kick out of 'reading' the story all on their own.

The highlight of this wordless book by Robinson are its illustrations, which are somewhat evocative of Eric Carle. I admit, I was wrong in my assumption of the obvious, but I was still long bored by the amount of time it took to get to that point. I really did back Angie all the way and I hoped that she would find peace with her new life, even if that meant remaining childless.

Almost all children wonder whether there are others exactly like them somewhere out in the universe, doing the same thing at exactly the same time. Welcome back to Another Book Podcast ✨ This week we had the wonderful Frances Mensah Williams CBE in the office and she was an absolute pleasure! A teenager named Lauren is a new face in Angie’s life and her impact will be significant for years to come. As an added bonus, the children featured are diverse, including, among others, a differently-abled boy in a wheelchair and a little girl in hijab.
