Susan May Warren is the USA Today bestselling, Christy and RITA award–winning author of more than eighty novels whose compelling plots and unforgettable characters have won acclaim with readers and reviewers alike. The mother of four grown children, and married to her real-life hero for over 30 years, she loves travelling and telling stories about life, adventure and faith.

Told in dual pov which is my favourite and accentuates the narrative. Alexander Stone is a very domineering alfa male character & narrator Jeffrey Kafer did well portraying a clear cut, overpowering, & formidable dom. Lacy's voice was sweet, and innocent which portrayed Krystina perfectly.

When forbidden desire becomes something deeper, the past is exposed, and the betrayal is more than either expected. Overall, I would have liked a little more originality from the author but there was so many wonderful things about this book. I loved listening to these narrators and they made this listen a pleasure and I look forward to more of their performances. When Alexander decided to go after Krystina, he killer instincts fall short, and he has a hard time with her as he tried to introduce her to his kinky world. His patience are put to the test as she question his knowledge about everything. Both characters have a dark past and both are horrible with communicating in my opinion.

This series is reminiscent of both Fifty Shades of Grey and The Crossfire Series. All three men are powerful CEO’s and dominates, looking for submissive women if you are familiar with Anna or Eva you know they where not submissive and neither is Krystina. All three are strong woman, unlike Anna, but similar to Eva, Krystina was devastated by another man. The Heart of Stone was a series on Nina and Tristan and a happy dance is done when you find out that the next generation is getting a chance to be heard. You don’t have to read Tristian/Nina’s story, but if you had it’s nice seeing them again. I never finished their series unfortunately and I hope to do so down the road. Spooky that Ethan (their son and character in this story) looks like a dead image of Tristian on the cover but Nailed it! I love when authors portray the cover exactly as it should the character image. I’m a total cover girl! When sitting down to read this story don’t expect to put it down until Midnight ends. Trust me it hooks you and adulting be darn you will finish it late at night to see the outcome. Boo the books end, but I really cannot wait to see how the girls (his siblings) play out. Can we maybe just hint at C & D being put in the story? Yes, vague so I don’t spoil who C maybe as a potential one for Diana. Tressa is so much like her daddy, whereas, Diana is like her momma. If anything, his fingers tightened, making Ella whimper involuntarily. "Oh, I don't think so, whore. I've got plans for you now. You're going to make a tasty little treat for—" I was SO ready for this story, but I was was NOT ready for this series to be done. This past year tagging along with Rembrandt and all of the other characters has been quite the ride! My heart rate was always high as I dove into each new story. Same went for this one! Ella listened to her friend and colleague's laughter follow her through the hall and into the historic mansion's stately ballroom, which now housed an impressive collection of paintings, antique furniture, and historic objets d'art. She'd worked for the assistant curator for more than two years now, and Bea knew her well enough to understand that when Ella said she hated crowds and that making small talk with strangers gave her hives, she wasn't kidding.

Alexander Stone, is enigmatic, passionate, and fierce, and sexy as all hell. He is Billionaire real estate tychoon and has a masters degree in psychology!! He's smoking hot and bossy smartypants. Just the way I love it ;). Unfortunately, the hermit gig didn't pay much, and Ella was addicted to living indoors and eating regularly, so she had to work, which meant dealing with people on a daily basis. At the museum at least, most of the people she met were on their best behavior, and being surrounded by the art made the unwelcome company almost bearable. When she gave tours as a docent, she could concentrate on her speech and on the works she pointed out to visitors to the collection; when managing the gift shop, she could smile politely and use professionalism to keep people at bay. The lighting out here was dim, especially with the caterer's lamps removed and the museum shut down for the night. A full moon partially obscured by drifting clouds made it possible to see, but somehow the silvery sheen it cast only made the quiet of the gardens deeper and reminded Ella of the lateness of the hour. She enjoyed these hours of the night, enjoyed the play of the moonlight on the artful plantings and graceful sculptures scattered through the museum garden.

Most days, things went perfectly smoothly. It was only at times like this, when she had to deal with a special event and potential donors, that Ella ended her day feeling as if she'd been dragged behind a car over a field of broken glass. Heart of Stone is the first book in Krystina & Alexander's epic love story. It's the beginning of the steamy and unforgettable series by USA Today Bestselling Author Dakota Willink. Ella liked to think the artist had seen him as she did—a fierce guardian, willing to battle evil on its own terms, determined to protect his charges against any harm.

So I just finished the book like 2 minutes ago an I'm stunned. This was a really well written story. But I have to say, there was TO MUCH inspiration from other books, specifically Fifty Shades. I was seeing a lot of these similarities from the beginning towards the 60% point, but after that I saw some originality. This book is heartfelt, dealing with all its drama in the real-world, effectively reflecting it every step of the way. The story itself is engaging, and it’s easy to see why this series became so successful with its worldwide audience and following. Fully invested in the characters and their outcomes, the story has many twists and turns, constantly managing to surprise the whole way. Fantastic series, I loved it! All three books are well written, well plotted and contain containing interesting and captivating storylines. Dakota Willink masterfully created 31+ hours of reading and listening pleasure. Storylines incorporate a perfect amount of drama, emotion, angst, suspense, twists and hot romance. The characters are complex and well developed each have their own stories, pasts with issues. Krystina, the female lead is a strong independent woman, I loved that she stays true to herself. Alexander, the male lead, an alpha who needs control of just about everything has met his match with Krystina. She is the light to his darkness, his angel. Great buildup and storylines in each book as secrets unfold including those of secondary character who are all great too. Thank you for these wonderful & entertaining books Dakota Willink!! I also love how Rem's faith evolved, especially through this story. You could see through each story that Rem is being pulled in so many directions, but Hope is what seems to elude him. I appreciate how the authors incorporated God revealing himself to Rem through so many situations and people! These narrators did an exceptional job! Both were able to switch smoothly from male pov to female pov without a disruption in my enjoyment of the story. Jeffrey’s voice was exactly as I would imagine Alexander’s to be and he brought the character to full dominate life. Lacy’s voice was sweet, innocent and perfect for the uncertain and confused Krystina. When emotion was called for both of these narrators allowed their voices to flow with the full depth of characterization. I could not have asked for better rendering than this duo.
