Description

This Prada is a clean, classy scent and the iris note is simply great. It’s not one to get, if you don’t really enjoy floral or powdery fragrances. The leather and patchouli rough it up and masculinize it, but there is a very good balance at play here. It’s really at this time, that I am reminded of Dior Homme and Dior Homme Eau, as L’Homme Intense fits right in line with that series. However, this is stronger on the iris and doesn’t have the leather to the same extent, nor any cacao. The overlap isn’t too extreme.

L’Homme Prada Intense expresses the multiplicity of male identity through intense Amber and Patchouli notes that cross paths with the floral refinement of Iris, while the introduction of Tonka Beans brings an airy, oriental dimension to the top end." Prada.com

The Prada is a clean man who is linear, but by no means boring. It is much more flexible to wear than the other two fragrances I have just mentioned. It can even be integrated into everyday working life - something I wouldn't dare do with Valentino. The longevity for me hits around 9 hours, which is great for just about any purposes. Not exactly top tier level, that goes on for seemingly ever, but this Prada isn’t going to disappoint. Truly, for most purpose Intense is going to work perfectly.

MARLEN: So, along the same lines, John, many folks have become familiar with iris as a main fragrance note since the launch of Dior Homme. How would you say the Pradas compare to other mainstream iris fragrances? Performance is very good. Especially the durability, which is double-digit. The sillage of the EdT I find better. This of the Intense is but also very good and sprays a noble impression. L'Homme Intense is a reinterpretation of the Eau de Toilette of the same name by Prada. The intensive version was developed by the same perfume designer who created the original fragrance: Daniela Andrier. In both compositions the main characteristic feature is the iris. Their powdery, light bouquet in the new version, however, encompasses darker, more aromatic notes. The result is a less floral, but stronger fragrance experience. The composition is almost consistently praised as stylish and mature. In addition, despite its classic charisma, it is quite independent. The perfume is suitable for middle-aged men who like to appear elegant and self-confident. In contrast to the lighter L'Homme, it is more suitable for the cooler half of the year. Easy Start with Rough Aftermath JOHN: This is an interesting question, and nice to put to me! I was thinking of one artist, but two different paintings. Henri Matisse, the French painter, has a painting in the Museum of Modern Art in New York called The Piano Lesson - this to me is Prada L'Homme... there's a certain quiet, proportioned simplicity to the scent perfectly captured in this painting. The grey color also matches this kind of iris. Another painting by Matisse is a perfect match to L'Homme Intense, it's called The Pink Studio, and is owned by the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, Russia. The painting isn't about the color pink but rather this bold blue and turquoise in the center that takes all the attention. This is the "intense" that I feel when smelling L'Homme Intense. Those rich ambery notes flavored with iris are well-represented in this painting. DESIGNER'S DESCRIPTION: "At the epicenter of the House, La Femme Prada and L’Homme Prada represent a fluid relationship between polar definitions. The family of fragrances draw on both time honored ingredients and surprising compositions, yielding fragrances that defy expectations.

Dark, Balsamic Scents in the Foreground

Unlike its predecessor, Prada L'Homme Intense sets the fragrant, aquatic iris accent right from the start. It takes the entire top note for itself and thus gives a clear direction: Sweetish floral scents are not to be expected in the following. Rather, aromatic and balsamic smells unfold in the heart note . Sensual, animalistic amber spreads emphatically here and is muffled by patchouli with an herbaceous sultriness. Compared to the original perfume, L'Homme Intense strikes a coarser note from the start. Even in the base note remains Intense masculine. Woody and smoky nuances dominate here of fine sandalwood, strong tonka bean and leather create a seductive sillage. Chic, Angular Glass Bottle Overall do I like Prada L’Homme Intense? I think it is an amazing fragrance. It’s got enough similarities to the original to be familiar, while also adding new elements, to stand on its own. NOTES: L'Homme: L'Homme Prada is a modern scent that combines the classic Prada ingredients - amber and iris. There are also notes of neroli, geranium, violet, cedar, pepper, and patchouli.

Here are some photos of my old 2017 made in Spain by Puig bottle which I bought 4 years ago and the new 2021 made in France by L'Oreal bottle: I've tried it every now and then for months now. Intense is just too sweet to me, speak, sweet in the wrong way. A slightly leathery, almost fruity sweetness. Where others think they like it because it's not as powdery or dusty as Dior Homme (Intense) or Valentino Uomo (Intense), I miss something like this as a counterweight to weave the sweetness into an odorous carpet that I find pleasant in the long run. When we left the shop again, I noticed a gentleman; extremely handsome and chic at the same time. Light grey three-piece suit, pink tie, white handkerchief, brown leather monkstraps, business suitcase, travelling alone...Before all bottles of Prada L'Homme Intense are completely gone and you are only able to get them at really high prices I grabbed some more bottles - and to my surprise they are 2021 batches and made by L'Oreal in France. Projection wise, I find the sillage to be on the upper end of moderate. It’s not a heavy scent, but it projects well, just not crazy so. The performance is very good, regardless, and you or other people will notice this juice on you.

It is an excellent choice for men in their mid-20s and above, is completely safe for work, while being completely attractive enough for dates.JOHN: Not only do I think it's a successful flanker, I think it's much better than the original. As we've talked about before, sometimes a flanker can really take the DNA of a scent and do wonders with it. I think this is the case with L'Homme Intense. I don't think it's dramatically more powerful than the original L'Homme, but it focuses the spotlight more directly on the darker parts of the fragrance, the ones which I like more. Though, I’d put the amber at number three. From here, it is pretty linear, and doesn’t develop much beyond this. In a weak moment I tried the then new L'Homme Intense in the shop and bought it. Although I had such a gut feeling that it seemed to me somehow overmodulated. But I thought it would be awesome if I liked the EdT so much.
