Description

In addition to the Knight war machines, every House has multiple men-at-arms in its employ, resembling Planetary Defence Forces, although possessing a much smaller amount of heavy equipment. On several worlds, artificers and technicians became the most important subjects of the warrior nobility. They maintained the Knight walkers, and over time styled themselves as a priesthood for the half-forgotten mysteries of technology called the Sacristans. They arbitrated between the Knight Houses and ensured that the headstrong nobles did not wipe out one another in bitter feuds by ritualising the values of Duty, Honour and Valour. With the acceptance of these values, the Knights became known as The Chivalry. [3] Bondsmen abilities are a system of battlefield patronage – or “domineering neural implants”, depending on how you want to look at it – in which fully-fledged Knights command the lowlier combat walkers. Each variety of QUESTORIS-CLASS Knight has its own Bondsman ability,* allowing it to direct a nearby ARMIGER-CLASS ally toward specific tasks. Bring It Down: Score 2 points for every enemy Vehicle/Monster destroyed with 10 or less wounds, 3 points for a Vehicle/Mons There are two key ways to field Knights: as their own army or as freeblades (one titanic or three armigers) accompanying another Imperial army. A smaller type of Knight suit piloted by lower-born individuals, they are fast-moving, close-ranged fire support for larger Knights.

They also gain a special Crusade Duty, for those narrative campaigns – look out for those in the codex! Of the Arcana on offer our favourite is probably Artificia Cybernetica, buffing your Automata (including the neat ability for them to make Reactions, patching that massive hole in your capabilities) and granting your Magos a S10 AP1 gun that will Instant Death Automata and Dreadnoughts, but cannot hurt anything that isn’t one of those, Buildings, or Vehicles. A close second is Artificia Reductor can make enemy units Emergency Disembark Vehicles and Buildings against their will while also pinning them, while also wielding a truly appalling anti-tank melee weapon. Tech-Priest Auxilia is a neat little unit, a squad of 1-3 Tech-Priests accompanied by 4-10 Servo-automata (Servitors). The most annoying thing about this unit is that you can’t take Tech-Priests without the servo-automata, so you can’t just bang down a Mechanicus Enginseer as a cheap and fun option. Their primary purpose is Battlesmith, but you must upgrade the unit with one of three Techno-arcana, the baby version of what the Archmagos can have. Cadmus: Like Griffith, not the most beneficial but has some good combos. Their strat allowing you to intercept is very good for establishing board control, and their relic giving you ignores cover is also solid.Myrmidax let you take Myrmidon Secutors and Destructors as Troops (but not Line). Your Archmagos gains Bulky (3) and 5 wounds. Finally, you gain Hatred (Everything) and can take a Thanatar Calix as an Avatar of Destruction, giving nearby Myrmidons Line and +1 Wound when determining combat resolution. We’ll have all of the week’s hobby news right here on Warhammer Community, including miniature reveals tomorrow and a monstrous amount of coverage from the absolutely enormous reveals coming at Warhammer Fest Online 2022. Armiger Knights are long-legged combat walkers designed to strike hard and fast at critical targets. Nimbler than the primary Imperial Knight patterns, these engines of war carry heavy weaponry powerful enough to break a battle line.Generally speaking, these provide an assortment of heroic ways for your knights to do more damage to the enemy. There isn’t a lot of subtly here but there’s a lot of pain for the enemies of the Emperor. Several of them also benefit significantly from you being Honoured.
