Description

Stringent quality control in material selection and machining, bond expertise, careful assembly and thorough inspection, perfected through Nagaoka’s long experience in stylus manufacturing technologies.

As for a minimum external preamp to look at that have at a minimum adjustable capacitance are below. The Nagaoka is very well presented in a solid plastic box with clear instructions in proper English. Be aware that, with the finer profile of a MicroLine, you'll need to ensure that your records are very clean (otherwise the stylus will dig dirt from the bottom of the grooves, leading to higher surface noise, distortion and premature wear of the stylus). The MP110 has the really nicely balanced tone that makes the whole Nagaoka range up to the MP500 prized by many. The higher the impedance, the better your top end - hence I run mine at 82K of impedance, no additional capacitance as I run a moving iron, which is impervious to capacitance, or so Grado says anyway. Before the hype I didn't even know much about that brand Nagaoka, beides they make nice inner sleeves. With a quoted life of just 150 to 200 hours, at my current rate of use this will only last me 3 or 4 months. Recommend replacing the stylus as aerly as possible to enjoy clear tone for a long time and not to damge the disc grooves. With the MP110, you get an investment that not only enriches your listening experience but also ensures longevity and reliability. According to that person, increasing the capacitance in the phono stage gave a brighter, less muddled sound.

For jazz and classical I could easily live the MP-200 and never feel the need to hear anything better. The MP-110 is a great upgrade option for a number of turntables with great results with the Rega Planar 1, Planar 2 and the Project debut carbon range. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Sometimes a clean but slightly worn record will play better with a conical stylus other times with a microline so it’s good to have the options. Grados fit that bill and I’ve had a Grado Prestige Silver installed on the Thorens for years, only replacing the stylus.ive got multiple tables set up in my system and ive been finding myself gravitating to the q2 stuffed with modeling clay and the vm95ml. Only a few minutes and I believe you two have potentially answered the question that has been bugging me. If I was forced to use a conical or elliptical (particular crappy bonded ones) for all of my records, I would have chucked my turntable out the window 6 months after trying to get back into vinyl 7-8 years ago and gone back to CD + digital only.

What makes the Nagaoka MP-110 stand out is the way it provides a musical performance that is completely satisfying and fulfilling, while still having the ability to create those "oh, wow" moments because the music just sounds so good. Their discontinued MP 11 had a rather large following around it when it was out years ago and this MP 110 is its direct replacement. The second one is a bit more flexible as it has 3 capacitance's to choose from where as the first one only has 2. I decided to purchase the Technics 52mm alignment tool to see if setting it up that way would rectify the issue but it did not.But for general use at home, the reference time is between 150-200 hours in which the stylus begin to wear and the tone quality deteriorates. Everything I have played using it has been wonderfully controlled and tight, with a very detailed image.
