So if your gateway module software is up to date then fault detection should run more smoothly. If it’s not, how does one know if the batteries are old and worn out or just not being monitored and charged properly? We are unable to ship to the following post codes on any service but may be able to obtain a quote:Some six months later I started getting the dashboard warning "Brake pedal feel reduced. OK to drive with caution." On MY18-20 cars this is an indicator for approaching end-of-life of the smaller battery, that is mainly supporting the break system. Don't ignore this warning! Better get the battery replaced soon. The attached document describes how to replace the small auxiliary battery in the the 2020 and before model years. Just to keep you updated, this morning (~10°C) I had the usual "Hybrid battery anomaly", "Brake pedal reduced" and "ASPT disabled, drive with care" (not the exact messages, but you know what I mean). And the car shutting down when trying to "start" the engine. I asked on both the day I bought the car if the software was up to date and six months later on the cars 1st service and on both occasions I was told it was “all up to date”. In reality it was not up to date and also 4 generations out of date (3/4years). My car is a Sep 2019 (I was told it was a June 2020 at sale) and the software was updated after a long 3 month process in July 2022 last year. Alpha Batteries bears no responsibility for whatsoever for loss occurred due to late or failed deliveries.

Indeed the car is under a leasing contract paid by the company I work with, so the costs are not really an issue. The issue is, where I live (south of France) the 3 JLR dealers in 80 kms range are so fully booked they cannot provide an appointment before May... Like I said the symptoms are getting worse and worse, so I started looking for a solution on my own (I can get an Exide EK151 at ~70 euros here).

Both 12V batteries in my MY19 I-pace have failed. My dealer said: "Batteries may last from 6 months to six years. You'll never know." If they were my 12v batteries I would source them myself and buy ones with manufacturers guaranties (1-5 years) and after hearing Hairy-Cheeses experience, I would change them myself. Battery removal time: about 20 minutes if you haven't done it before (excludes waiting time for the car to power down) Read through the instructions. If you plan to do this, you can be prepared by getting the parts together before your battery fails. Get the replacement battery when it does fail or could fail based on age.

Most vehicles will require this battery to be registered with the on-board computer system, therefore professional fitting at a Halfords store is strongly recommended." Starting with MY21 the small auxiliary battery has been discontinued and they only have the starter battery. Every 3 years I conclude. Even if you have a Bosch S5 starter battery and the AUX is at end of life. Or have had 3 years of battery trouble free motoring. In my personal experience, reading comments on software on this forum and having spoken to Jaguar Technician (roadside assistance) it’s more likely an iPace’s software is not up to date unless an assistance technician has updated it. They are the only ones I would trust to say (and do) the software updates. Numerous people have reported being told that their cars software was up to date and later they discover it is not. A dealer would reset the BMS at this point but it will self-reset over time. Some code readers used at independent shops can reset it too.

We've seen a number of the auxiliary batteries fail. These are the small AGM batteries found in pre model year 2021 cats. The TCU battery (T2R23864) is stored internal to the TCU as shown in the picture in the thread from dernotte. It is a battery assembly with two batteries. It should last at least 10 years. The TCU is located behind the left loadspace trim panel. In contrast a dealership that should have a stable and strong wifi signal usually can’t be bothered to do updates because it takes time and apparently the dealerships cannot charge JLR or the customer a lot for the updates (about €15-€20 an update). Dealerships being booked up is also a notorious problem with the iPace. There are not enough qualified technicians to legally work on 400v technology. Even roadside assistance are not qualified and not allowed to touch anything relating to the 400v system they advised me.

Disconnect and insulate the large cable (DC-DC converter ground (earth) ) from the Battery Monitor System on the negative post There are slight discrepancies in the dimensions but I don't think that will matter. 2mm higher for the B14155 isn't much. Smaller dimensions will always fit in.
