My husband and I booked a last minute trip to Barbados. When it came to booking a hotel there was very limited choice. I personally prefer to stay in more of a resort style hotel with better amenities but nothing fitting that description was available so we decided to stay at the Coral Mist. My husband had actually stayed here as a child, and my in laws have stayed here several times so it was recommended. Caroline Hirons says: "I literally call this a fire extinguisher for the skin. If you have sensitised, uncomfortable or dehydrated skin, this nourishing, gentle oil is for you. The beach here is great, lots of sun loungers available. All set up with umbrellas and tables. The sun loungers provided are the good ones with the cushions. I love Coral Mists private beach.

The beachfront location is the budget-minded property's greatest asset I’m writing this review of my experience at Coral Mist Beach Hotel when I’m actually still a guest here. This is unusual but I did not want to risk forgetting to do this after I returned to the UKWhilst the hotel's situated one an amazing beach the area around is very scruffy with horrendous pavements. My advice is to not leave the hotel on foot in the dark due to the poor pavements. Not only are the pavements uneven and potholed, but in many places, they are very narrow (single file only) and one trip could take you into the very busy road. Tamsin (Front Desk) was exceptional: she was warm, welcoming and stored my bags while I waited in the restaurant for my lunch reservation. She also took me to Tabi, the restaurant manager, who by prior arrangement with Sheniz, very generously agreed to store my frozen items even though the This is now my last night and I would be genuinely sad to leave. All in all, I had a wonderful time and felt really cared for and valued by all the staff mentioned as well as all others that I encountered. We recommend the local routed taxis (reggae bus), they were plentiful, cheap and a convenient way to get around (be warned, some of them do drive a little erratically).

By the time I returned to the hotel after lunch I was shattered as I had been awake since 3am to catch a 7am flight. You cannot imagine my gratitude when Tamsin told me that she had arranged for my bags and personal belongings to be taken up to my room. To top it all, when I got up to my room, my water and fruit were in the fridge and my frozen items placed in the freezer. The biggest draw for me was that all the rooms of the hotel are literally on the beach so you are continually soothed by the loud sound of the surf and have your own balcony overlooking the beautiful aquamarine ocean where you can sit to enjoy the sunrise, sunset and the beautiful ocean. We stayed in a Deluxe studio which is more than adequate for 2 people, we had all the facilities we required and was cleaned daily. The hotel felt quiet during our visit, plenty of sunbeds around the pool and beach.Founded by Charlotte Cho (of Soko Glam), the product has been available in the US for some time now, garnering a cult following, so we're very excited that it has launched in the UK.

On arrival, we were allocated a 4th-floor room with a building between our balcony and the sea. (see my photos) We were very disappointed as the one thing we were looking forward to was sitting on a private balcony and taking in the beach and sea. The lift was out of action. Announced as a 3 star hotel, it in in reality worth only 2 star. Basic place to stay. Near an extremely busy road. No real comfort. In the lobby, there is a small gym and a business center, but the draw of the hotel is its beach. The Blue Orchid, the hotel's adjacent sister property, allows guests to access a second pool, game room, and a wide boardwalk with chairs and benches, a quiet place that hovers over the crashing surf. See MoreDuring our stay we went to Oistins on Friday night, this was great fun, freshly cooked fish, delicious rum punch and a generally fun vibe! We also did a Catamaran trip, although a little pricey it was a fun trip. We are situated on the South coast, so that means we are a short distance from the famous St Lawrence Gap, a stone's throw from Bridgetown or a few steps away to our very own beach front. While we enjoyed the hotel we felt more cld have been put on for guests. There was no entertainment at all, no managers party, the week we were there anyway and almost all other hotels put this on. The bar/ restaurant closed at 6pm each day so no chance to meet and socialise with fellow guests except for on the beach or pool area. All prices have gone up but the price of drinks and food was exorbitant. 2 rum punches and 2 small ( not even 1/2 pint,) banks beers 44 barbadian dollars! Bear in mind these are brewed on the island and even nearby bars sold them alot cheaper. No wonder the bar closed at 6pm.
