And for Mirror to the Sky, this makes sense, because disc one has the unifying thread of the use of a studio orchestra on all six tracks. It was empty, with nothing in it, expect for a handful of tiny air-filled plastic cushions that scarcely made a dent into the empty space.

But let’s be honest, the Downes-Howe collaboration “Living Out Their Dream” is the worst of the six tracks. Steve Howe's persistence and dedication have paid off, and the late Chris Squire's selection of Billy Sherwood has here been repaid in spades - he has genuine presence and his supporting vocals are eerily reminiscent of the master. It is a Yes album by members of Yes and featuring only one of the original (post The Yes Album) members in Steve Howe but this current version of the group has produced music that should satisfy any Yes fan. That’s why I fully support the decision to have a second CD with three bonus songs, even if they could all be on one disc. During instrumental passages, I was silently thrilled to read in the liner notes about exactly which guitars Steve Howe used on each track! I gave Mirror to the Sky the special treatment, following along with the accompanying booklet, reading every line of lyrics as it was sung. Circles of Time" originated from a musical idea of Davison's that Howe insisted to put on the album.

There is some nice piano from Geoff later on in this piece and it would have been good to hear more solo keyboard fills. Band members Billy Sherwood, Geoff Downes, Jay Schellen, and Jon Davison, who has co-written most of the record all contribute and play gracefully, adding a pretty fine album to the majestic Yes universe. The downward spiralling guitar riff round about the ‘ice cream’ vocal just doesn’t work for me and its re occurrence in the song spoils the track for me. I am sure I am not the only one who groaned when I realised there was a new Yes album being released.

Living Out Their Dream" features an introduction that Howe considered reminiscent of The Rolling Stones, and said the song has a slight tongue-in-cheek lyric. Like its predecessor, Howe resumed his role as producer and the FAMES Orchestra in North Macedonia provide orchestral arrangements by Paul K. In my view orchestral input with Yes music works very well but not to the detriment of losing keyboard input. That’s really the worst I can say about Mirror to the Sky, because this album in fact sounds amazing—I just found myself imagining what these songs would sound like live, because that is the Yes that I know and love.
