Each and every storyline comes to life as you read through Deaver’s books. The characters are vivid, controlled and concise. Each story can be read as a standalone version, even though each one is part of a line of similarly themed books. In further discussing some of his individual creations, will likely helps us to understand Jeffery Deaver as a relevant author. Colter Shaw is hired by her boss to initially prevent her proto-type being stolen by a competitor and later to protect her when her violent husband is prematurely released from prison. Jon Merritt was serving a sentence for violence against Parker who testified against him and now fears he will be seeking to silence her for good in a fit of rage based on his alcohol fuelled anger. Shaw goes from Hunter to the Hunted in a life and death struggle to stay hidden and ultimately alive as others are engaged and used to support the exCop.this time with new star character Colter Shaw. No one in the world does this kind of thing better than Deaver` Lee Child This is book 4 in the Colter Shaw series and although I’ve read this author before I hadn’t read any of this series and this read well as a stand-alone. Shaw finds himself in Ferrington in the America Midwest in this fast paced full of thrills read. Brilliantly written with a twisty plotline, the author leading you down a road only to find it’s another clever red herring.

This is effectively a chase thriller, but it sort of becomes a question of who is chasing whom and what is the real reason behind the chase. Bear in mind that Allison Parker is an engineer who is responsible for some pretty spectacular new technology. It’s the type of technology that is worth stealing and, potentially, the type of technology that’s worth killing for. Layers upon layers.Briefly, Shaw, who describes himself as a Reward Seeker and Hired to Find investigator, is hired by a corporate CEO to recover a stolen revolutionary industrial component. Having discovered the thief he is then hired by the same person to locate Allison Parker, his Engineer and her daughter Hannah who have gone missing following the release from prison of her violent ex husband Jon. Despite his skills Shaw is led a merry dance by Allison. For what may be objectionable to some readers, there is a presence of vulgar and rude language. Vulgar was about one-third of the total. There are a few instances of impious language. For me aspect of the novel was not an issue for me and, I suspect, not for most readers. There were not any intimate scenes. There is violence, some implied and some described in the more edgy way as it happens. For the novel overall, I do not believe that these aspects are a reason not to read this novel. The story follows Colter Shaw, a reward seeker hired by the eccentric entrepreneur Marty Harmon to protect Allison Parker and her daughter, who are on the run from Allison's ex-husband, Jon Merritt. As Shaw delves into the case, he discovers that nothing is as it seems. With time running out and danger lurking at every turn, Shaw must navigate the treacherous wilderness and unravel the truth before it's too late.

Harry Bosch and the Lincoln Lawyer team up to exonerate a woman who’s already served five years for killing her ex-husband. She is the chief designer and developer of a new miniature reactor that offers hope for fuel economy into the future. Several of Deaver’s stories have been adapted into other venues for consumption. You might be familiar with the movie The Bone Collector with Denzel Washington playing Lincoln Rhyme. Lincoln Rhyme is generally the main male character in his work.

Masterful storytelling - The Never Game is Deaver`s most riveting, most twisty, most unputdownable novel yet` Karin Slaughter Deaver's writing is gripping and fast-paced, with "Hunting Time" delivering plenty of "oh no!" surprises and adrenaline-fueled escapes. The author's ability to pull the rug out from under readers' feet multiple times throughout the story is commendable, keeping them guessing and engrossed until the very end. Gripping and ingenious tale of greed and deception in the American wilderness The Times Thriller of the Month While some readers may find the complexity of the plot and the abundance of twists overwhelming at times, those who enjoy thrillers with intricate narratives will find "Hunting Time" to be a satisfying and rewarding read. The finale is a masterstroke, leaving readers stunned and eager for more. It’s when the milieu moves from the urban to the wilderness that Shaw’s survival skills, learnt from his father Ashton, come to the fore. Plus, of course, no Deaver novel would be complete without its totally out of the blue plot twist, and the one delivered about three quarters the way through this novel is one of the best. It totally blows all one’s earlier preconceptions out of the water.
