Description

Boatyard Double Gin is an award-winning, certified organic gin, produced in County Fermanagh in North West Ireland. We also use lemon peel which we take from unwaxed lemons on the day that they are to be used for ultimate freshness. The smooth and refined nature of Boatyard Old Tom Gin makes it a perfect choice for classic cocktails like the Tom Collins or Martinez, allowing the flavours to shine through.

The spirit has pure water added to it before it is rested for a minimum of two weeks and then bottled at 46% ABV. Joe’s vision was inspired by his family’s rich farming history – from grandad Brian who was a ploughing contractor to father Michael who was a dairy and beef farmer, the McGirr family have been part of the fabric of Fermanagh for centuries. Without them, this site would not function correctly or be able to collect information to make your experience better. Crafted with meticulous care, this gin draws inspiration from the traditional Old Tom recipe, which dates back to the 18th century. Situated on a marina inside an old boatyard on the banks of Lough Erne, Northern Ireland, Boatyard is an award-winning farm-to-bottle distillery founded in 2016 by Joe McGirr. So he created Boatyard Distillery, the first legal distillery in Fermanagh making gin in over 130 years. Boatyard Sloe Boat Gin Boatyard Sloe Boat Gin has been made by steeping wild-harvested sloe berries for 6 months in Boatyard Double Gin. Winter Solstice Gin from the Boatyard Distillery in County Fermangh shows off some of the fabulous flavours of winter – namely Christmas pudding! I wonder when I might be tempted by a single triple distilled malt whisky from the same distillery ? The first release from the Boatyard Distillery in Lough Erne, Northern Ireland, is Boatyard Double Gin!

The ‘double’ in Boatyard Double Gin refers to the distillation process and a purist’s approach of placing juniper at both the start and end of the process. Fermanagh, Ireland, made by steeping wild-grown, handpicked sloe berries for six months in a bespoke gin. This double contact method, which Dutch genever distillers would term ‘dubbel gebeide genever’, results in a more pronounced juniper flavour. This may affect factors including the product style and allergen information, and we would advise that you always check the label and not solely rely on the information presented here. Our Sloe Boat Gin has been made by steeping wild-harvested sloe berries for 6 months in our Double Gin.
