The eponymous number of the show ("Lord of the Dance") begins with a two pairs of males accompanying a pair of females in an introductory dance before the eponymous character dances to the shows' upbeat theme. The number ends with the title character being joined by his troupe. At the first half finale, the whole team, with brilliant front man James Keegan tapping his heart out, made the audience go wild.

The Lord of the dance needs to protect his people against Don Dorcha, the Dark Lord. It's a dangerous task for The Little Spirit, who travels through time to help the Lord keep his people safe. As the dark power challenges our hero, this epic traditional Irish folk tale draws you into a compelling, unforgettable and truly spellbinding mythical universe. Michael: “We never ever thought we’d get far…it doesn’t get bigger than the London Palladium and we’re delighted and honoured to be here. The show has changed quite dramatically since the beginning. There are probably four numbers that are the same. Those are relatively unchanged. The rest of the show is completely new.” Flatley said, “I’m delighted that London has once again welcomed us so warmly, and to be able to extend the show’s run by moving to the very beautiful Playhouse Theatre makes me feel immensely proud of what we’ve achieved.
