STEP 2: Prep time! For flawless results, exfoliate the day before using the Revolution Glow Exfoliating Mitt. Make sure to also cleanse your skin 20-30 minutes before tanning. A: This is your preference and the tan/glow that you're after. If you want a natural-looking tan, go for the shade most similar to your natural skin tone. Or, if you want a deeper looking tan, go for the shade 1-2 times darker than your natural skin tone. I'll definitely continue to use this tan purely because of how easy it is to apply. Use our Makeup Revolution Glow Illuminating Hyaluronic Face Tan Drops mixed with our Revolution Vitamin C Glow Moisturiser and apply to your face using our Makeup Revolution Glow Tanning Brush to buff it out. You don't need too much of the mousse either, meaning that it will hopefully last me for a good chunk of the summer. The scent was a winner for me, and the colour of the tan was bronzed enough without looking orange or fake. However if you are using a foaming mousse tan such as our Revolution Glow Self Tanning Mousse. You need to allow 4-6 hours to develop. We recommend applying this before bed so it can develop overnight and avoid any accidental water streaks (or getting tan on your furniture). A lot of regular tan lovers swear by a routine when it comes to tanning, but embarassingly, I don't usually prepare much at all. At most, I'll slap some moisturiser on my skin and hope for the best. It’s time to apply your tan! Pop some of your self tan onto the mitt and start applying from your feet and work your way up using circular motions to blend the product seamlessly. Pay extra attention to tough spots like elbows, knees, ankles, wrists where product buildup is common!A: We would recommend exfoliating the day prior to your tan day and then showering (preferably with cold water) 10-30mins beforehand to ensure that you are applying your self-tan to clean dry skin. A top tip of ours is to make sure you moisturize daily as applying self-tan to well-moisturised skin stops it from going patchy or getting streaky. A: To gradually fade your tan, start lightly exfoliating 3/4 days after tan application. Apply our amazing tan eraser to dry skin after at least 3 days of tan application, leave it on for 5 minutes and then simply wash off in the shower. For best results, use our Revolution Glow Tanning Brush to Apply the Face Drops. Mix with moisturiser and apply evenly to the body after cleansing. Wash hands after application, no need to wash off body until your next cleansing routine. At maximum, mix 10-15 drops with your everyday moisturiser. Use daily for 7 days to build your tan up and then as and when required to maintain your glow. The fake tan did cling slightly to my kneecaps and elbows, but that was most probably my fault because I didn't really prep my skin beforehand. As a lazy fake tan user, it's just something I deal with! The verdict Next, be sure to moisturise, this will hydrate your skin for an even application. Granted, it still has that subtle biscuit scent, but it's definitely not as overpowering as something like a St. Moriz tan for example. As a whole, I think the Revolution fake tan did a really good job of blending into my skin considering I didn't really prep it at all. Before applying any self-tanning products, you must prep the skin to achieve the best, streak free result. There are many self tanning products you can use to achieve a radiant glow, so use whichever one is best for you and your skin. Let's be honest, fake tan never really smells nice, does it? After applying, you usually end up smelling like biscuits, which isn't a great vibe for anyone. The Revolution fake tan is 'infused with a tropical scent' - and I can definitely confirm that it smells better than most tans I've tried in the past. Now the first layer of your tan is on, you can repeat Step 3 as needed to achieve your desired shade. It’s important to consider your natural skin tone to avoid an unnatural look. Also remember, for a mousse, the shade will deepen as the tan develops and lift slightly once you wash off the guide layer.

Thankfully, the tan was very forgiving, and actually blended into my skin seamlessly. It has a 4-6 hours development time, so I've often been applying it before bed and letting it develop overnight. However, for beginners (or anyone who wants a gradual glow!) Our Revolution Buildable Tanning Butter is perfect, just apply as you would an ordinary body lotion.
