Description

This mold was redecoed into the purple Megalligator ( see below), released individually to be his own character Megalligator and a different redeco was proposed for the unproduced Albitron. The Iguanus version of the mold was redecoed into Crazybolt. His cannon can plug into the short barrel of the tank turret or the rifle/Headmaster vehicle weapon. In an undocumented additional feature, the rifle can be inserted into the front end of the cannon. The cannon can be mounted on his forearm or held by any figure with 5mm hands. It also has a peg hole that an accessory such as his rifle can plug into, with extra square peg holes specifically to hold the rifle in place.

Part of the second assortment of Go-Bots, this version of Megatron is a mild redeco of the Autobot Blowout, transforming into a 1:64-scale Porsche 959 sports car with through-axle construction. This not only makes him roll exceptionally fast in car mode, but also makes him largely compatible with playsets from the "Hot Wheels" and "Matchbox" toy-car lines. Part of the Japan-exclusive Street Fighter II × Transformers toyline, Megatron is a redeco of Titans Return Voyager Class Megatron in M. Bison's traditional colors, fleshy bits and all. He transforms from robot to tank to fighter jet (both of made-up model), complete with Shadaloo insignia. The smaller Headmaster unit's robot mode is also painted to resemble Bison. Smallest Transforming Transformers Megatron was released in the second wave of the diminutive Takara toyline, including only his fusion cannon. Easily the most complex of the Smallest Transforming figures, Megatron is a just-barely-simplified version of his original Generation 1 toy, possessing the same transformation scheme and retaining most of his articulation. The transformation step involving sliding his chest upwards away from his hips is extremely difficult and will usually result in the chest popping off; this is fixable.Scaled to the same height as 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime and designed in only twelve days by Hisashi Yuki, [2] Masterpiece Megatron is an incredibly complex figure—potentially one of, if not the, most complicated Transformers toys to date—designed to depict a fairly show-accurate Megatron capable of transforming into a realistic (if oversized) Walther P-38. In achieving this seemingly impossible goal, Megatron winds up with the least articulation of the Masterpiece line, as well as a notably low percentage of die-cast metal. Megatron's transformation, while easy to figure out, is hard to actually complete. It's hard to describe in writing, but the final steps involve folding two parts at the same time and they don't really line up the way they are supposed to. My son gets it close enough that he can still play with it, so it's fine. At BotCon 1996, a donated Hero Megatron redeco was one of the items in the charity auction, along with several other canceled Generation 2 toys.

The tank's turret can detach and become a "jet throne," which features flip-out wings, and the body of the tank transforms into a missile-launcher battle station. The battle station has two seats on either side behind the missile launchers (non-firing) and a stowing bay in the center for an additional figure. Part of the first wave of "Battle Upgrade" Hero Mashers toys, Megatron is a non-transforming action figure with ratchet-joints, about six inches tall. His design is mostly based on Generation 1 Megatron, but with angles and styling very evocative of War for Cybertron Megatron. He has multiple peg-holes all over that can be used to mount any Hero Mashers accessory. As a first-wave figure, he has extra ankle articulation that is not present in later waves (a cut that was made to all Hero Mashers lines, not just the Transformers-branded ones).A gold redeco of the original MP-5 mold, Megatron Gold Version is a Hasbro Asia release under the TakaraTomy label (making it the first TakaraTomy Masterpiece to not be released, thus far, in Japan). It comes with all the same accessories as the original release as well as a new, non-transforming Reflector in camera mode.

Despite the change to the toy's colors, the box art on this set, the same art used for the Hasbro releases, was recolored to match the blue of the previous releases. Whoops. Not initially released in Japan, this sculpt only got a TakaraTomy release six years later when it was redecoed into " Tank Megatron" for TakaraTomy's United toyline. The Kreon Class of 1984 version of Megatron is even more toy-based tampographs than his prior versions, including his face detailing. Yes, it's a whole new tampograph layout. He's also mostly in metallic silver plastic, yet his helmet remains light flat gray. Megatron returned as an Action Master in 1990, and as with most Action Master figures, he could not transform. His sculpt was based heavily upon the character's animation model design. Megatron is compatible with all other Action Master accessories and vehicles. This sculpt was also redecod for the third wave of Go-Bots to become Frenzy, and later still into the 2001 Robots in Disguise Spychanger Hot Shot. Unwanted Food or Drink Products - Once supply conditions are broken, there are a number of factors outside of our control that can affect the quality of a product. Therefore perishable goods such as food and drink cannot be returned. He features two 5mm-compatible hands, and his head is made out of a slightly soft, rubbery plastic. Like Starscream, he actually has elbows, and like all Authentics toys, Megatron features sculpted insignias on his chest and the sole of his right foot; the latter is visible in tank mode while the former is visible in robot mode.

Optimus prime doesn't come with a gun. Again, why? They did this with the Bumblebeeas well and it makes no sense. For reasons of hygiene and safety, personal grooming products, cosmetics or items of intimate clothing cannot be returned. Accessories: Fusion cannon, energon mace, energy dagger, laser pistol, Kremzeek figure, Reflector figure Accessories: Sword, "high-density infrared laser cannon", 20 bullets, targeting sight/fusion cannon

TakaraTomy Staff Interview - Hisashi Yuki on Masterpiece: - I hear the first Masterpiece figure you created was MP-5 Megatron and you hold the fastest development record with it. Hero Megatron was designed with articulation in mind, so he is loaded with multiple swivel and universal joints, giving him far greater movement compared to his original Generation 2 toy. However, it's really just friction that keeps his joints tight and his parts together in vehicle mode (no pegs or clips) so after a bit of time and play, he turns pretty floppy. The joints connecting his biceps to his shoulders are also reportedly easy to break due to overly-tight tolerances, so caution is advised. This toy was used as " Gold Megatron," Megatron's super-iest duper-iest super mode in the Generations Selects Special Comic. Accessories: Left and right fists, translucent right fist, gun barrel (opaque and translucent), saluting right hand (opaque and translucent), "Laser Vulcan", stand, die-cast Megatron Gun accessory (Asia reissue) The toy suffers from a number of unusual shortcomings, and proved a rather hefty shelfwarmer. Notably, due to a large number of design flaws, it is known to fall apart very easily, with the crotch coming undone with minimal force and the arms and legs often popping off over the course of basic transformation or even movement. In particular, the lower body is attached to the torso by very thin open clips, unsuited for holding up the weight of entirely die-cast legs, and the lower arms, which need to be pulled out, are extremely liable to disconnect from their balljoints rather than extending properly. Many of the joints are also extremely loose, owing to both poor construction and the excessive weight of the limbs.
