Description

Alongside their new Torrent case, Fractal has released an update for their existing Ion Platinum series of power supplies. These new PSU models comply with the new ATX 2.52 standard and all ship with two 8-pin ATX12/EPS connectors and enhanced over-current protection. Edit: as for 120mm fans mentions, it was a mistake on my side, there is not 120mm fans only 140 and 180, it has been corrected

Fractal Design Torrent Review: Totally Different, Totally Cool Fractal Design Torrent Review: Totally Different, Totally Cool

You can find the full statement from Fractal here , including support links and guides to disconnecting the hub. The original review follows below. Personally though this is too big for my taste and hardware needs. I’d like to see this design scaled down to smaller sizes as looks like its really well thought out and I like the design language. Reply Edit: writing this and compiling all the information, made me already realize a potential mistake: I've plugged my AIO into the AIO Pump fan header of my motherboard running at max speed by default. Specifically what that means, is a problem with the GamersNexus test is that it's only valid with the same CPU cooler + Case combination they're doing.

Front-mounted:

It seems appropriate to plug the AIO fan into the AIO fan header of your MoBo but there is a single AIO cable to manage both the pump and the radiator fans, I think Arctic (AIO builder) recommends using the CPU fan header.

Fractal Torrent RGB High Airflow Case Review - PC Perspective Fractal Torrent RGB High Airflow Case Review - PC Perspective

I really like the design of fractals new torrent case the only thing that i really question is the decision they made to put the PSU above the motherboard resulting in no ability to put a radiator in the top of the case (really the only good place to put one for cpu cooling?) Overall customization and ease of use of the Fractal Torrent are very easy and impressive on how much space you have to work with. Technical Specifications of the Fractal Design Torrent Case Dedicated 3.5” drive mounts Sorry about the delay. I've taken a few pictures, and still consider making a short death-by-powerpoint-presentation-video of the build.I am running a 10900K with RTX 3070 Ti FE, on that case and my temperatures are pretty darn good. Normally my room temperatures are 68F to 70F. After running my PC for a little while, the room was at 73F. I ran a test and got about 51.5C on Average, with 70C holding most of the time and in some occasion jumping to 77C Max. My RTX 3070 Ti FE, was on Avg 55.8C and in some occasional hitting 81.5C Max. These are during spike, which last a second. I cannot pull these on the Corsair 680X using an AIO, which of course I had about almost the same low to idle temperatures when the computer was not in use of 27C-to-33C with the AIO while the air cooler was about 33C to 35C. Keep in mind the room was already warm so the air temperatures could be lower during idle if the system was not running. Only if you push your way through the filter screen. I should probably take photos with the front panel removed. Reply I will also point out the obvious here as this design eliminates the possibility of a top-mounted radiator or AiO cooler – though the case floor and front intake are available for liquid cooling with up to 420 mm radiators supported in both locations.
