Description

Encapsulating the romance of the French, bakers Monsieur Lefèvre and Mademoiselle Utile put the first initials of their surnames together to create LU. This celebration of passion remains in every LU biscuit made since 1846, transporting consumers to a sun-dappled square in rural Provence.

The delectable biscuits are available in four varieties, including Le Petit Chocolat, Le Petit Beurre, Le Petit Biscotte, and Le Petit Citron. The LU brand combines French love and passion – created by two pâtissiers who fell in love over their shared passion for baking and a desire to make the most delicious biscuits. The varieties were first produced in France during 1886. Le Petit Beurre is a modern take on the brand’s first-ever biscuit, Véritable Petit Beurre, whose oblong shape took inspiration from French tea mats usedin 1880s, when the brand was founded. Le Petit Chocolat combines the biscuit with an “indulgent” layer of milk chocolate, while Le Petit Citron is billed as having a “delicate lemon flavour”.The Lu biscuit advert is a popular series of commercials featuring the character of “Mamie Lu”, a wise and witty grandmother who serves as the spokesperson for the biscuits. Mamie Lu is played by French actress and comedian Florence Foresti, who brings a lot of wit, charm, and humor to the commercials. With her strong French accent and humorous delivery, she has become a beloved face of the Lu biscuit brand. Just like lunch, dinner or breakfast you’ll have your go to products – but if you were eating the same thing every single day, life would be dull and boring. You’ve got to mix it up a little bit.”

The best way to translate it in English would be ‘afternoon tea’ but it’s not as formal. It’s very traditional, it’s very sacred and every single kid in France has a ‘gouter’. I still have a 'gouter' myself, maybe a biscuit or a coffee, if I have time. We’ve also done it with my children, since they were young,” Fred explains. LU continues to stay true to its roots, taking inspiration from its founders’ original recipe and combining it with modern ingredients and flavors. LU’s commitment to quality and taste has made it one of the most beloved brands in the world. LU Le Petit Chocolat Biscuit Design LU was founded in Lille, France in 1846, by Jean-Romain Lefèvre and his son-in-law, Louis-Hippolyte La Pie. The two men set out to create a biscuit with a unique taste and texture, and LU was born. Made with “simple, authentic ingredients” and inspired by traditional French recipes, just one bite would “transport customers to a sun-dappled square in rural Provence”, said Lu. Le Petit Citron brings a soft texture and delicate lemon flavour to the range and last but not least is Le Petit Biscotte. This biscuit pairs the subtle flavour of brown sugar and cinnamon with a rich crunchy texture. Paired with a hot chocolate, it’s a match made in heaven! The Lu biscuit advertisement is a timeless classic and has become a part of French culture. It is a reminder that effective advertising can bring products to life and make them memorable. The advertisement has been able to create an iconic advertisement with its combination of humor and nostalgia. Le Petit Chocolat combines simplicity and charm by pairing the crunchy Petit Beurre biscuit with an indulgent layer of milk chocolate. This biscuit features the famous ‘Petit Ecolier’ (little schoolboy) figure, moulded into the chocolate and designed by celebrated French designer, Firmin Bouisset
