In 1986, the worm tubs at Dalwhinnie were replaced by condensers. The spirit lost all its personality, and at considerable expense the worm tubs were restored in 1995. The Dalwhinnie 15 has an ABV of 43% which is a little higher than some scotches. So you may notice a bit of a harsh burn. Dalwhinnie distillery is situated very high above sea level in the Grampian mountains in Highland region, very near to the geographical center of Scotland as well.
