Nutty and herbals notes feature in the concentrated flavour profile, ahead of a focussed lingering finish. The extra years of wood-ageing softens the colour of Aged Tawnies and give them greater complexity and their typical nut and raisin characteristics.

Pairs extremely well with nuts, dried fruits and fruitcake, as well as vanilla ice cream and crème brûlée. Of course, the wine itself is no longer transported down the Rio Douro in wooden rafts but there is still plenty of heritage and time honoured traditions of manufacturing this particular fortified wine which was devised by the British during the Napoleonic wars to ensure that the nobility still had wine on their table.They have been developed through selecting only our top quality wines from Graham’s four spectacular Quinta’s in the Douro Valley. After a decade of care and slow oak-maturation this wine is a wonderful example of the complex flavours of tawny port.
