I live in N.Wales which is undergoing transmission problems, but this has been occuring for days now. If you are interested the post here lists the data I got comparing my Humax 9200 with a Vestel PVR.

The PVR's user interface has all the graphical charm of an NES platformer, which we quite like, in a retro way. The machine is pretty user-friendly so evenconfirmed technophobes will feel quite at home with its operating logic, after learning its foibles. Features The installation process isquite straightforward but ratherslow. The PVR searches out available stations before allowing you to delete those that hold no interest -- and you'll probably find there's quite a few of those on Freeview.Humax is very aware that, for several months, some customers have been experiencing a slowdown in operation and usability issues with our PVR models. We recognise this has regrettably caused frustration and problems for some of our PVR-9300T and PVR-9150T users, and in particular those with the older PVR-9200T models." Does the Humax store its upcoming shows in flash memory, which is being lost when the power is turned off, or does it store them on the hard drive?

Not sure on lights but basically, green light is on red is off and red light and green light at the same time means it's recording something. I think. The obvious one is movement of the aerial in the wind if it is on the roof. If it is in a loft then have you moved stuff around in the loft or put more stuff up there? Given that there is a hard limit of 511 recordings , can someone recommend what the best replacement hard drive would be? I believe it needs to also be CE standard. Also based on experience, having originally replaced the hard disk in my 9200T with a normal (non-CE) Seagate (250GB) HDD - it is still going strong and has never presented any problems.

If you're a regular Superdrug shopper, you can now earn more freebies and discounts under its Health & Beautycard loyalty scheme, as the retailer has launched new 'VIP Rewards' as part of it. I've only ever used standard drives as upgrades and never had a problem. The CE or AV drives are cheaper to manufacture as they don't have the same error correction and are generally slower and have less cache. Ironically they tend to be more expensive retail and at one time it was difficult to get hold of them. The main frustrations for me are the incredibly slow EPG. It takes ages to populate. I had a TVonics PVR previously and that cached the EPG while turned off which the 9150 doesn't. Therefore the EPG on the TVonics was there straight away. Even my TV manages to remember the EPG when I turn it off and has it instantly visible when I need it. If you use the Freeview+ 8-day option on the TUTV PVRs then this is the same as that used by the Humax so will have the same characteristics. However, the TUTV PVRs do take much longer to populate the EPG than they should, up to 7 hours or more in my experience.`But then that is just one of many issues with the TUTV software. As you say if you use the 14-day EPG option on the TUTV PVRs then this should not apply, you either get all or nothing. We will not accept to exchange or fix a product if the damage was caused directly or indirectly by you.

I'm suspecting an internal battery may have gone as this seems to fit the behaviour, but I'm surprised upcoming programs would be stored in memory and not on the drive?Have 2 new Humax PVRs, both of which are having Mega problems! On one, the guide hasn't fully populated all day and on the other, all is filled other than BBC 1 & 2 Wales. The hard drive is a relatively modest 160GB, equating to around 100 hours of standard-def TV. Go easy on the season linking because this PVR will fill up fast.
