Warrior foxes come with some powerful effects (Critical Fang gives you +4 when attacking a monster, for example). The box contains 1 standard deck of 115 cards, 6 Party Leader cards, 15 oversized Monster cards, 2 six-sided dice, and 6 rules reference cards. Each battle is a fairer and a more exciting contest- each little army is full of more exciting characters- and it’s a better two-player AND large group game.

There was even a card that was if you roll a 6 or higher you get a +5 to ALL your rolls if you discard ANY 1 card.

It’s the same art style and quirk that Unstable Unicorns has and I enjoy with it’s own game play mechanics that make the game different. It is one of those games where I feel like I could easily explain to others that had not played before. Taken for what it is – a light, fun and interactive game that you can teach to almost anyone, I don’t hesitate to recommend Here to Slay. Again like its stablemate (pun intended), Here to Slay’s visual design and overall production quality is hard to criticise, with wonderful illustrations and nicely designed packaging throughout. You have to respond to the state of the game each turn and choose the right path of hero collection or monster slaying at the right time.

It’s refreshing to have more options on the table and each strategy tends to be pretty viable at most points of the game.

Here to Slay is a great addition to any household, due to being a great two-player game, but also a fantastic game for a larger group. This holiday expansion pairs with the Here to Slay, a strategic roleplaying game from the creators of Unstable Unicorns. Setup is really straightforward and really the longest part is getting through the rules the first time and sometimes looking up definitions to clarify things. Like its spiritual predecessor Unstable Unicorns, Here to Slay is a highly interactive game in which players will be doing everything in their power to get ahead by tearing other players down at the same time as advancing their own boards.
