I use the fermenter belt with a temperature controller so it cycles on and off and keeps my home brew within a few degrees either side of my target temperature. If we do not receive photographic evidence of the damage we will not be able to process a claim and therefore will not be able to offer a refund/exchange. If the heat pad has a tendency to warm the fermentation too much then by cycling the heat pad on and off with something like a timer can greatly aid the degree of control you have. Generally, it is advised to place the belt lower down the fermenter to provide more heat and higher up the vessel for less heat.

I am using an old heat belt from years back plugged into a Vitopod heat control, set at 20c borrowed from the gardening department. Perfect if you need to keep your brew in a spare room, garage of cellar where the temperature is less than idea for brewing.

I had read some of the negative reviews for this product, but I needed to be able to heat my upcoming batch, and so decided to give this belt the benefit of the doubt. Shortly after this I noticed it was cold, except for, funnily enough, the point where the cable enters. As the weather cools we have to make sure we are still getting a good temperature for yeast to ferment the beer.Heating the yeast directly for too long is probably not ideal so you may want to limit the length of time you use a heat pad to just a week to avoid putting too much stress on the mass of yeast.
