Description

Afterwards, a recovering Shadowsun remembered her encounter with T'au'va, beneath Mount Kan'ji on Dal'yth, and how the Goddess had saved her. She then learned of the Death Guard's defeat and that their warships which had entered the Startide Nexus, were now likely trapped within the Warp. All this led Shadowsun to immediately tell the Earth Caste to stop the destruction of T'au'va's temples. [1h] Sources Kor'sarro Khan after crossing the Rubicon Primaris and becoming a Primaris Marine. He now possesses the Psyber Berkut Anzuq. The second team should be comprised of Kut Skoden, Volk, Angrax, Nauseous Rotbone and either Re’vas or Bellator. If you’re missing any of those characters, you can swap in Brother Buchard, Haarken, Gibbascrapz, Tjark, Vindcita, or Maugan Ra. Rotbone is definitely good to have, as he can heal your team and keep you in the fight longer. The Tau do, though. Emphatically. Vik’s list does have a small challenge going into this that his list doesn’t have as many sacrificial units as some builds out there, so he doesn’t have that many turns before he has to start playing for objectives with his Crisis Teams, but in this game against such a small number of opposing units that does not appear to have mattered – Vik took this down with a commanding 100-69 victory, which strongly suggests the Tau were able to comfortably put up a clip of two monster kills a turn, at which point Mani just runs out of stuff. While Crusher has some formidible defences, one of the things it notably doesn’t have much it can do about is high-volume re-rolling shooting, and most Tau lists have that in spades, with the flamer Crisis Team in particular being a full nightmare for a Dimachaeron in particular, as it’s only T7.

Ten thousand mind-controlled Cadians were psychically forced by those Warp-dwelling entities to march across a minefield 100 kilometres wide under fire from the White Scars, Red Hunters and Celestial Lions Chapters. Kor'sarro Khan's greatest accomplishment, however, was successfully bringing the Hunt for Voldorius to its conclusion. Phil: Commander Shadowsun has the practiced poise and confidence of a gold medallist, but it’s lonely at the top. Slow to anger but slow to forgive, she only really has a close relationship with her drones, Oe-ken-yon and Oe-hei (an endearingly brave and faithful duo, or so it seems at first). Since her relationship with her old bond-mates broke down on Mount Kan’ji, she’s pushed people away. Beyond that, she has Camouflage Fields (giving the enemy -1 to shoot her) and her Stalker Battlesuit (giving a 5+ invulnerable save) for defensive abilities, as well as her two drones- the Advanced Guardian Drone has a 4++ of its own and makes her impossible to shoot as long as another unit is closer, while the Command-link Drone expands the reach of all of her abilities by 3″, which is cumulative with the Tau Sept benefit. Far from being a preening noble hiding up in the Spire, Lady Haera loves nothing more than getting her hands dirty with a masterwork power spear and a phase sword. She’s a terror to face – so make sure she’s on your side when she arrives on Saturday. While a VEHICLE or DRONE unit is performing the Fire Markerlights action, that unit can move without that action failing. If it does, until the end of the turn, models in that unit without the VEHICLE or DRONE keyword that are equipped with any markerlights are treated as not being equipped with any markerlights for the purpose of the Fire Markerlights action. Vashtorr the Arkifane’s quest for the Key-fragments is nearing its end, and the action turns to the dead world of Arthas Moloch in the fourth chapter in the epic narrative series, Arks of Omen: Farsight . Commander Farsight is just preparing to wrap up the vicious War of Dakka once and for all, when calamity strikes and his entire operation is jeopardised by the arrival of the Unhallowed space hulk and its Balefleet entourage. While Commander Farsight makes a splash in the Arks of Omen series this week, his erstwhile colleague Commander Shadowsun embarks on an adventure of her own through the swirling Startide Nexus. Meanwhile, more tales of the Tanith First and Only get French-language editions. Shadowsun: The Patient Hunter

The Tanith First and Only find themselves at the heart of Warmaster Macaroth’s campaign for the forge world of Urdesh in The Victory: Part Two by Dan Abnett, a collection of two Gaunt’s Ghosts novels charting the final stages of the Sabbat Worlds Crusade. Ibram Gaunt knows that victory against the armies of Anarch Sek will decide the fate of the entire crusade, but his Ghosts have some major mountains to climb before they get there. The head itself was masked in silver and set upon a lance, and laid upon the highest walls of the White Scars' fortress, destined forever to stare out with its hollow gaze over the approach to the fortress-monastery. The White Scars' citadel is high in the Khum Karta Mountains of Chogoris; the road is long, yet the silvered heads of the slain line every pace of its passage. The young Shas spent much of her youth on Dal'yth as a student of the famed Commander Puretide alongside his other pupils Shoh and Kais. Together, they braved the harsh and frigid conditions of Mount Kan'ji. All three survived and were accepted as full students of Puretide. Shas would go on to become a famous subordinate of Shoh, who became known as Commander Farsight. [13a] War calls us. War tasks us to rise to the challenge and sweep away our foes in fire and blood. War calls us all, my brothers. Will you answer?" Warhammer Community: Reveals from the New Year Open Day 2020 (posted January 4 2020) (last accessed 1/4/2020)

Crisis Shas’ui [55pts]: Cyclic Ion Blaster [10pts], Early Warning Override, Plasma Rifle [5pts], Plasma Rifle [10pts] Soon enough a surge of Tau reinforcements were able to land, bringing Stormsurge's to every major front on Prefectia. The suits were instrumental in blasting apart Imperial defenses and Hives, allowing for the Tau holdings on the planet to increase. With too many of their assets lost, the Astartes could not contest the Tau advances. Day by day the last Imperial strongholds fell, and the Ethereals declared Prefectia won. It was renamed Vas'talos in a grand celebration ceremony. Across the Tau Empire, propaganda portrayed this victory as their greatest yet. Shadowsun's image was boosted to the public and Ethereal Council alike, and she became a hero to the Tau. Tau propaganda broadcasts were kept on a loop for days afterwards as the Water Caste attempted to maximize the media value of the Prefectia victory. However to the Adeptus Terra, Prefectia had been of little strategic value and it was considered a minor loss on a minor front. The Imperials instead focused on reclaiming Agrellan. [1h]Ethereal [5 PL, -1CP, 85pts]: 2. Sense of Stone, 6. Exemplar of the Mont’ka, 6. Wisdom of the Guides, Hover Drone, Stratagem: Promising Pupil, The Humble Stave Note that you can complete early levels using Volk, Kut, and Re’vas to satisfy the Big Target, No Psyker, and Minimum 4 Hits. It will get hard eventually, so you might only be able to do the first few levels this way but you will save tokens. Beta (No Faction Restrictions)

None other than Mani Cheema, sporting yet another build where he’s taken something successful and gone “but what if we did more of that?”. His new Crusher list has a mere eight units, but they’re good ones – the mandatory Swarmlord and brutal flyrant, then two Dimachaerons and three Scythed Hierodules to trample opponents into the dust, a full Hive Guard unit to apply Swarm Leader to, and that’s it. Not complicated, but very potent – all the big beasts take serious killing and will tear stuff to pieces if they get close, and the acid sprays and impaler cannons in the list add up to a pretty massive chunk of shooting damage. The build is also very good at playing this mission – I happened to match into Mani in round 2 on Conversion, which has the same map, and in it he can saturate the mid-board with monsters then lash out in whatever direction is needed, relying on the fact that many lists will struggle to kill more than once a turn, especially once the Hive Guard have chipped away at opposing forces with the powerful combo of Relentless Flurry and Single Minded Annihilation.

Painting Shadowsun – Rockfish’s Method

See Phil Kelly and Josh Reynolds put Shadowsun through her paces in the White Scars omnibus, Masters of the Hunt . A final great clash in this hunt erupted on the ash-strewn wilderness of Prefectia, with Solaq finally cornering Aun'Do. Just as the last of the Ethereal Guard fell, the Ethereal managed to activate a force shield to protect himself long enough to be air-lifted to safety by Orca. Solaq was seething with fury. [1a] For the final team, look to use Angrax, Rotbone, Maladus, Celestine, and either Calgar, Aun’shi, or Brother Jaeger. This team is a little harder to build, as there are a few characters here that are hard to get or don’t see much play outside of LREs and are therefore probably underleveled on your roster.
