Description

The terms of this Section are agreed allocations of risk constituting part of the consideration for Roland’s licensing of Software to You and will apply even if there is a failure of the essential purpose of any limited remedy, and regardless of whether a party has been advised of the possibility of the liabilities. If applicable law prohibits any portion of the limits on liability stated below, the parties agree that such limitation will be automatically modified, but only to the extent required to make the limitation compliant with applicable law. The internal rechargeable battery offers up to 4.5 hours of performance time, meaning you can take the J-6 out busking or perform anywhere that doesn't have power outlets. Who Is It For? The rear panel of the Aira Compact J-6 features a wide variety of connection options including audio, MIDI and sync I/O, as well as an AIRA Link port for connecting multiple Aira Compact units together. Features Alongside more conventional pitch shifting and formant, which the E-4 does well and with decent range, it can harmonise your vocal in chords of up to four notes, with selectable scale and pitch. Auto-pitch can be adjusted to either subtly nudge vocals into tune or create a hard-stepped effect, while the vocoder mode, with its variety of waveforms, allows for some awesome retro-futurist vocal synth sounds. The E-4 can also handle an external MIDI keyboard for classic vocoder noodling if you’re keen to really go old-school.

However, these are fabulous at what they do, they are perfectly pitched and featured and make for a fantastic little electronic music setup.Expected battery charging time: Approx. 3 hours - to charge the unit, use the USB port of a computer or a commercially available USB power supply adaptor (5 V, 500 mA or higher).

Although the T-8 is referred to by Roland as a ‘Beat Machine’, it has another important feature up its sleeve: a bass section modelled on the fat and squelchy TB-303. Sound sometimes continues to play without stopping when the STYLE knob is operated while a key is depressed. Upon such termination, you shall immediately stop using the SOFTWARE.R. This EULA does not license use of Software for evaluation purposes (“Evaluation Software”) except to the extent these terms may be invoked by the separate license terms and conditions accompanying that Evaluation Software. This End User License Agreement (“EULA”) is between the individual consumer or business entity that will use the Software (“You”) and Roland Corporation (“Roland”).

a) Any provision of this Agreement which is prohibited or unenforceable in any jurisdiction shall be ineffective to the extent of such prohibition or unenforceability without affecting, impairing or invalidating the remaining provisions hereof. c) If there are any differences between the terms of this License Agreement and the OSS License, the OSS License shall prevail and the terms of this License Agreement shall not apply. MusicRadar verdict: Whether a vocalist or merely a ‘vocal dabbler’, this little unit could provide inspiration if you want to add unusual vocal touches live or in the studio. Roland Aira Compact Series: The web says There’s a lot to like about the T-8 as the drum and bass engines make for a fun, usable combination. Roland has also seen fit to add interesting extras such as variable probability for each step in the drum sequencer, and ability to generate randomised rhythm and bass patterns. Larger, pricier, but the EMX2 combines conventional and pattern-based sequencing effectively – and it can run on batteries.

Conclusions

The Roland J-6 Aira Compact Chord Synth is a portable songwriting tool that's excellent for new and experienced producers. With its internal rechargeable battery, Juno 60 synth engine, and powerful chord sequencer library, the J-6 brings a fresh workflow that you can take with you everywhere you go. Generate soul-stirring song ideas in seconds, and experiment with styles and variations to coax dancing lines and rhythmic patterns from your chords. Add lush effects to frost your sound, and expand your possibilities by interfacing with other AIRA Compacts, MIDI hardware, and music production software.

Interestingly, rather than simulating sounds of one particular drum-machine, Roland has chosen to mix it up a bit with a hybrid approach – muddied perhaps by the overlaps or similarities in sound and circuitry between some of Roland’s earlier analogue drum machines. So, the Bass Drum and Snare are taken from the TR-909, the Clap has an 808/909 flavour, the Toms sit in 606/808 territory and the Hats are derived from TR-606. To the right of the drums is a little bass synth and this is all TB-303 with exactly the same controls as you get on the original Bassline. It is a simple saw or square wave sweet spot of a synth with a filter that wants to be fiddled with. Third Party Rights. Other than as expressly set out in this EULA, this EULA does not create any rights for any person who is not a party to it, and no person who is not a party to this EULA may enforce any of its terms or rely on any exclusion or limitation contained in it. To charge the unit, use the USB port of a computer or a commercially available USB power supply adaptor (5 V, 500 mA or higher). We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document. J-6 is ready to be integrated into your set up with MIDI and sync connections, plus it is Aira Link compatible, for easy syncing with your Aira gear. The J-6 is also a class-compliant audio and MIDI interface, offering you easy recording and control via your computer or smart device. The E-4 is capable of great results, both as a live processor or studio tool for creating weird tempo-synced vocal loops and effects. However, like the other two units on review, its diminutive size (and restricted panel space) means that menu-diving and key-combinations are needed to access quite a few parameters – most of which are not written on the front panel. The Looper might also have been easier to use with a couple more buttons. Whilst being a whole new beast entirely; the J-6 draws inspiration from the iconic Juno-60 synthesizer, incorporating the classic four-voice Juno synth engine. The engine has been meticulously recreated from the ground up using Roland's cutting-edge ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) technology which replicates the sound and analog imperfections of the original synth. The programmable chord sequencer features 64 user patterns with 64 steps each. There are also 64 ready-to-use synth presets, incorporated from the original Juno-60. Further variation is provided by the option of switching between two (subtly different) choices of Tom and changing the Clap to a ‘Noise Tom’ or High Tom.
