Description

There is a 12-MP front camera and a 3D ToF on the front of the Honor Magic4Pro inside a cutout in the display. Under good lighting conditions, the pictures look fairly good, while the automatic HDR mode balances out shots against the light. Additionally, the smartphone comes with a Bokeh mode and a highly customizable beauty mode. Video recordings can be created at up to Ultra HD and 30 FPS. Despite this, the phone makes it through a day –but without too much wiggle room. We found a 90-minute clip drained the battery by about 15 percent at full brightness, and most days we called it a day with between 10 and 20 percent left in the tank. Next on the list comes the Vaxson Screen Protector for Honor Magic 4 Pro. The glass of this tempered glass screen protector is 4H hardness which protects your screen from daily scratches, scrapes, and normal signs of wear. Its 99% transparency preserves the original screen’s brightness and definition. It has a self-healing technology that enables the film to recover from minor scratches in 48 hours.

Made of scratch-resistant, highly transparent PET material and laser-cut with state-of-the-art machines, this screen protector is of high quality. It can be easily applied without bubbles and can be removed or repositioned at any time. The Magic 4 Pro gets as bright as 1000 nits, which should make seeing what's going on easy in all but the brightest climes. The Ultra Armor liquid screen protector is a wipe-on liquid coating that bonds to the device’s glass, enhancing scratch and impact resistance. It adds a layer of glass that is thinner than a hair and remains invisible. Loaded up with the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, the Magic 4 Pro is fast, making light work of most apps and games. And with 256GB storage, even though there's no SD card slot (so you won't be able to expand the onboard storage), you should still have space for all your files and photos.Next, is the ELANGEL Screen Protector for Honor Magic 4 Pro. This screen protector is made of scratch-resistant, highly transparent PET material and laser-cut on state-of-the-art machines. This transparent Screen Protector can be applied easily and without bubbles and can be removed or repositioned at any time. Once attached, the glue-free Protective Film no longer moves – optimal edge adhesion guaranteed. While the ultrawide sensor also has a resolution of 50 MP, it is smaller than the main sensor. Under daylight, it captures appealing pictures with a sufficient depth of field and no chromatic aberrations. The periscope optics offers a 3.5x optical zoom, and up to 100x digital zoom. Pictures remain acceptable up to about 10x zoom, with higher zoom levels giving up too much in terms of sharpness and details. Honor's added some software flourishes when compared to Huawei's UI, namely in the form of screen-tuning optimisations. Even worse is that launching the camera can take several seconds to launch and take a photo, and switching apps will occasionally result in weird stuttering. I've already mentioned the launcher lag, too. The phone just isn't enjoyable to use in the software department, and I haven't a clue why. Sometimes the refresh rate visibly dips below 120Hz when I'm scrolling, and that's not good enough for a phone that costs this much. This soft, transparent protective cover is light, beautiful, and crystal clear, allowing the phone’s original design to shine through. It helps keep the phone protected and looking brand new.

The Honor Magic4 Pro is a high-end smartphone with good features and able to shine with a good camera, an IP68 certification, blazing-fast charging, and an appealing design. We also found the face recognition and under display fingerprint scanner to be nice and responsive, and the UI –Magic UI 6, reliable for the most part. It comes with a factory-applied screen protector with good gliding properties. While the transition at the edges is somewhat rough, this can be easily remedied by using the included bumper. There's a modest 4,500mAh cell in the Magic 4 Pro, which is smaller than the 5,000mAh power we're used to seeing in flagships like the Find X5, Galaxy S22 Ultra, and Xiaomi 12 Pro.

We are very pleased with the workmanship. The slim metal frame makes for a robust and premium appearance. The glass display sits flush with the frame and the slightly sloped glass edges make the Honor look almost frameless, an impression that is further reinforced by the screen-to-body ratio of 93%. While the clearances are tight and even, the Magic4 Pro creaks noticeably when twisted from the corners. On the Honor Magic 4 Pro, there's a significant amount of bloatware pre-installed, enough that even I noticed when I typically don't. There are first-party Honor apps, alongside the likes of WPS Office and Booking.com. Most main cameras on flagship phones have stabilised lenses. This feature – OIS for short – helps keep the lens steady, reducing blur from hand shake. It's particularly useful in low light, so we were surprised it was missing from the Magic 4 Pro, and equally surprised to get such good results from the phone's main camera anyway. Given how good the Magic 4 Pro's screen looks and how well the main rear camera performs, it's arguably one of the best camera phones available for this price. The phone goes toe-to-toe with the Pixel 6 Pro, and outperforms it in some key areas–such as screen quality, charging speed, processing power, camera versatility and storage capacity.
