Description

I often use a stylus and onscreen keyboard with just ctrl and shift on the two buttons of a spacemouse, very appropriate for vertex tools and subd to name a few tools. While the CadMouse in your right hand selects and creates with ease, the 3D mouse in your left hand smoothly positions your object or view.

The full-colour LCD provides visual feedback on the function keys, navigation setting status and workflow applets ensuring quick access to important information without interrupting your workflow. While using the SM at home I jump to the keyboard all the time for shortcuts, but it’s still faster. With superior ergonomics, twelve programmable application command buttons, a LCD display, custom view keys and more, SpaceMouse® Enterprise provides ultimate 3D navigation for high-end CAD ecosystems. The mouse contains a suite of keyboard modifiers, including enter, space, menu, shift, tab, and more, to minimise the amount of time you spend switching to the keyboard. I think the thing you have to do is get one and try it for a week or so and see how you feel about it. I do architectural visualisations, with the navigator it’s very easy to “walk” through you’re model, that way you can show the client how the design is going to be. Besides its ability to perform full 3D manipulation, you can also access high-tech features like color LCDs for key assignment, keyboard modifiers, quick-view keys, a full-size, soft-coated hand rest, and 12 intelligent function keys.

That’s a pain at the best of times but it is especially so with a SM as you often have to use the Evans Method to get it working. If I have to orbit quickly or do a lot of zoom, often I’ll just grab the spacemouse at the side to save the finger work. I have used 3DxWare in the past and I am aware that you can change things there, but as mentioned I don’t have 3DxWare installed. This controller cap has a 6-degrees-of-freedom sensor that can detect input as small as 4 micrometres.IMHO, when a user claims a base model 3D Space Navigator speeds modeling, it’s because they haven’t learned how to navigate efficiently in the first place.

I haven't heard anyone complaining about it in any of the offices besides the initial learning curve. I would say get one you can afford and try it, mine has it’s uses for me and I don’t plan to get rid of it. Whether you are reviewing 3D drawings with colleagues or presenting design ideas in a meeting room, the SpaceMouse Wireless offers you the functionality to navigate efficiently in 3D applications anywhere. This mode is similar to Target Camera mode, but it simulates grabbing the object in the viewport with the 3D mouse knob. Maybe Linus and the team would like to try out a bunch of the 3D space mice out, compare them for various games and in a later video create their own parts like that link shows?I’m thinking the nunchuck acts the mouse using the stick, maybe the ir pointer when theres a sensor bar available. While the on-screen display provides a convenient visual reminder of the commands assigned to the intelligent function keys on the computer screen, helping maintain focus. Furthermore, this mouse has a rotating cylinder on its base, which the user can raise, lower, or rotate.

Industrial sectors like CAD, 3D design, architecture, and 3D modeling heavily use 3DConnexion devices.

I don’t have the 3dconnexion drivers installed, since I prefer Rhino’s native driver and the other software I use it in also has its own driver. The effects of the 3D mouse on the view depend on the current view and projection, as well as the selected mode. Using the SpaceMouse with the built in driver I notice it is different between v7 and v8 and I want to know if and where I can invert the zoom axis, similar to what you can do in 3DxWare and why the default behavior was changed in the first place?
