So far I bought two perfumes from Montale, this one and black oud and I hated both, The reviews were great. What remains is the engaging voluminousness that the fragrance also knows how to demand and that in a very pleasant, but also dominantly attention-grabbing way, as I find. Honestly if you're looking for a fresh scent, there's so many designers that do this exact style of fragrance way better.

Montale Starry Nights shares the soapy aspect of Woods and Spices but i much prefer that one, even tho it leans more feminine then this.I gotta say though, thanks to all of these reviews pointing out that the dry down smells like cat urine, I just can’t get that out of my head now every time I wear this. I'm not sure that any development is worth enduring this stench, but I persist with the same morbid curiosity that drives motorists to gawk at pileups on the highway. The comparisons to Fleur de Male, Sculpture, and Bogart Silver Scent make a lot more sense once you know there is orange blossom dominating this scent. I am not sure what's up with the listed notes but there's definitely a strong white floral note, almost a "dirty" one akin to what ultimately steers Dreamer in a masculine direction.

This one will turn heads – but not because it's freaky, but because it's loaded with class and easy elegance.This fragrance will probably get you attention I don’t see anyone hating on this fragrance it just smells warm and clean. Smelled fresh, possibly a little bergamot, maybe even aquatic, nothing like the "Wood and Spices" on the label. There is no timber at all- and in general the above mentioned notes are absolutely random, do not rely on them. The Montale house gives you the opportunity to discover the most iconic fragrances with a sampling kit (5x2ml) you can customise at will.

In perspective, I should raise my ratings of all other Montale's, as this one is really the worst of them all. The oud is inoffensive and on the clean side, and combines well with the sandalwood and vetiver to make a fresh, woody, yet warm all season masculine fragrance. Sometimes on the bus or train I can sit behind some random older guy and catch a whiff of the cologne he's wearing. Unfortunately, I couldn't perceive Vetiver, but I can imagine very well that this component was used for background music, or is even responsible for the sour accents mentioned above.It's not old-school hairy chested machismo, but it definitely suggests sporty, clean and fresh-strong images in my mind.

Fragrant Asian ointment commonly used in the gulf region and Saudi Arabia, this scent is extracted from the oud tree. For the person who likes sweets and gourmands and Montale, I would suggest they try Montale's Sweet Oriental Dreams–it's a brilliant gourmand fragrance–this one isn't.I've gotten compliments on it but I can also see how it would be off-putting to some, and I'd definitely not consider it mass-appealing. Perfumes with natural ingredients often smell different in batches based on the source of the ingredients, while synthetic ingredients usually have consistency in their smell and lasts longer. I don’t know if the guys hovering over the cauldron hadn’t showered in a while and sweat into the batch or what happened.
