From the Studio One menu navigate to ‘Preferences’ (in OS X) or ‘Options’ (in Windows) and select ‘External Devices’ (image 1 OS X and image 4 Windows).

Right below the transport buttons, you have two octave buttons. To the leftmost is the Octave down and next to it to the right is the Octave up. These shift the keyboard up or down -3/+4 octaves and the LED on the buttons will light up to indicate the shift.

If your ‘External Devices’ window already shows two Impact LX devices (image 1, image 4) you are ready to go. Move on to step 8.

Select ‘Impact LX’ (slot 1) from the list of Control Surfaces and set the Input port to ‘Impact LX**’ on Windows and ‘Impact LX** (MIDI1) on OS X.If you are using an LX25/LX25+, press key ‘C3’ (labeled ‘Enter’). If you are using any other Impact controller, skip this step. Additional functionalities can be accessed via the Setup button onboard. While I cannot discuss each one of them, the User Manual that comes along with this is understandable enough to help you with the assignment and functionalities of the assignable buttons. All I can say is, once you know how the Setup button works, it’s very easy for you to access more functionalities since the keys and buttons are properly labeled.
