Marquis Bundy (Teenager / City Worker) is beyond excited to be in this show! His journey with YPT began with Knuffle Bunny last year! A couple of his other Chicagoland credits include Little Shop of Horrors and You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Citadel Theatre Company), Godspell and Little Women (The Home Creative Co.), and A Christmas Sonata (Sigman Brother’s Productions.) He is from Des Moines, Iowa, where he has done additional theatre work, including choreographing and assistant directing. Marquis loves video games, being a barista, and being a lava lamp enthusiast. I have read many books by Mo Willems that have been honored with the Caldecott Honor award, which included the “Knuffle Bunny” series. Now I have recently read “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!” which is actually Mo Willems’ first children’s book and is a Caldecott Honor book and it is about how the Pigeon keeps asking the audience if he could drive the bus after the bus driver leaves to run an errand. “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!” is truly a memorable book that children can read over and over again!

Matthew Weidenbener [he/him] (Choreographer) is thrilled to be joining Young People’s Theatre! Matthew is a Chicago-based performer and choreographer. Chicago credits include Mike in A Chorus Line (Porchlight Music Theatre), Elf (Drury Lane Theatre), Hello, Dolly! (Marriott Theatre), Young Bernadette in Priscilla: Queen of the Desert (Mercury Theater), White Christmas (Theatre at the Center), Hanna in La Cage aux Folles and Choreographer for The Little Mermaid (Music Theatre Works). Regional credits: Grease, Man of La Mancha (STAGES St. Louis), William Barfée in Spelling Bee, Our Town (Indiana Summer Rep), West Side Story, Hairspray, Mary Poppins (Cardinal Stage). Matthew is a graduate of Indiana University. Endless love to his family and friends for their immense support and to Randy for over a decade of guidance and trust. Don’t let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!!! mweidenbener.com Picture Book Award Nominees and Materials: Past Picture Book Award Winners". scasl.net. South Carolina Association of School Librarians . Retrieved March 26, 2017. After my daughter and I worked our way through the entire epic Elephant & Piggie saga, we've decided to move on to Mo Willems other big series: The Pigeon. The first in this series is a tale we can all relate to; a tale of greed, ambition, hopes, dreams and wanting to drive a bus. Ocr ABBYY FineReader 8.0 Ocr_converted abbyy-to-hocr 1.1.6 Ocr_module_version 0.0.13 Openlibrary OL23270458M Openlibrary_editionIn Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, a bus driver begins the story by expressing to readers the importance of not letting the pigeon drive the bus while he is gone. However, the persuasive pigeon spends the entirety of the book trying to talk us into letting him drive the bus. After reading any (or all!) of the Pigeon books by Mo Willems, you will tell your students that Pigeon cannot be left at school alone at night because he gets into trouble when he isn’t supervised. He needs to have a babysitter and you were wondering if they could help! Can you name a time when you saw someone or a group of people do something mean? Did you blame them? Why or why not? This fully animated app includes hilarious shake-and-play technology, customized voice integration, and other exciting interactive features. Plus, you can draw the Pigeon with Mo!

Should we punish the pigeon if he drives the bus and kills someone? If so, what should be the punishment? What about the bus driver: should he be punished? How about us, if we let the pigeon drive? At the beginning of the book, a bus driver comes by and tells the audience that he has to leave to do something, but before he leaves, he warns the audience, “DON’T LET THE PIGEON DRIVE THE BUS!” After the bus driver leaves, the pigeon comes by and starts asking the audience if he could drive the bus.Three-time Caldecott Honoree Mo Willems brings the Pigeon to the digital screen with this original, feature-rich, animated app. If nobody was around and we wouldn’t be putting anybody outside in danger by letting the pigeon drive, could we let him drive?
