I was having lunch with my friend Anushka and her son, Roshan, and they mentioned he was looking for a wife." Salena Auntie gestured to the tall, handsome man behind her. "I thought you'd be perfect for each other. I called your office and they said you were here, so we thought we'd drop in." Curiously numb at the sight of her ex wrapped around her old boss like the most tenacious of invasive species—she’d caught a glimpse of them in the mirror before they’d closed the stall door—Daisy slid a quarter into the disposable menstrual product dispenser. Overall, I really loved The Dating Plan and I would recommend it to those who want to read a light-hearted, fun, entertaining romance novel with a little spice.

They wanted the prom queens, not the class valedictorians; the women who wielded fashion as a weapon, and not a shield

Even with a step-by-step plan, these fake fiancés might accidentally fall for each other in this hilarious, heartfelt romantic comedy from the author of The Marriage Game. The side characters are a delight as well. Daisy’s antics, Layla’s funny stories about her aunts, the days in The Spice Mill (their family business), and Layla’s conversations with her father shows the Patels’ amazing family dynamic. I also appreciate Sam’s best friend, John Lee. He would always put Sam in his place especially when he doesn’t agree with the things Sam does. When we have a Tortured Hero who’s also The Older Brother’s Best Friend, we’re in for a good time. Marriage of convenience isn’t a trope I really gravitate towards, but the enemies to lovers and fake dating in this drew me in. I also read this the weekend after January 6th and it was a perfect and necessary escape from *gestures wildly.* I will be cautious about a person who seems self-centered—more interested in himself/herself than anything else (including our relationship). I don't really wanna drag this anymore so I'll just say it right away: The characters are AWFUL! I can't remember disliking any characters I've read this year until this two came along. Look, I enjoy sexy, playful banter okay? I live for them. But the exchange of these two and even their thought process are just..

Also if you’re fake engaged and trying to convince everyone that it’s real, why would you tell literally every single person you talk to that it’s just fake?? Also at first I was like really you’re still not over your prom date?? But now I realize that they had more history than that. During the wedding season, Jay and Zara butt heads to say the least, but they can’t seem to get enough of each other’s presence. After an agreement is made between them, Zara must find Jay his perfect match. If she succeeds then Jay must introduce her to his celebrity clients. tons of humor, romcom, kind of chaotic. the family is adorable—it’s my second novel from sara desai so i was familiar with the other characters from the dating game which i read in january. layla is daisy’s cousin. On the other hand, I LOVED the representation in this book—I feel like software engineers and venture capitalists aren’t usually the type of characters we usually see in books to begin with, and I loved that Daisy was a woman of color. Reading about her family and her culture added to the reading experience for sure.I am so infatuated with love stories that involve people having a friendship or knowing each other from grade school. There is so much history and understanding between the main character Daisy Patel and her high school crush Liam Murphy, who is also her brother Sanjay’s old best friend. Although a story like this is unlikely to ever happen in real life, many of the events that took place in the beginning were surprisingly realistic (for me anyways). I like that Daisy and Liam get to know each other again and open up about things from the past, contributing to their commitment issues. Zara Patel is a child of divorce and has had her share of heartbreak enough to want to keep things light and easy as she chases her dream job of working with celebrities. Jay Donovan has grown up with a single, cancer-surviving mom who raised him, and has his own fair share of trauma from when he was in the air force. Jay is married to his work and can’t fathom anything serious because he doesn’t have the time. I was in the mood for fluff and sexy times and minor drama, and that’s exactly what I got. Was the humor over the top? Could this have been resolved with better communication and therapy? Was this cliché? Yes, yes and yes. However, I still enjoyed this fun and kooky read! The world is a lonely place full of lonely people. If you find someone you can connect with, someone who can take you out of yourself and bring you joy, you can’t let it go.” Sara’s main characters Daisy and Liam were so well-written and likable. From the very beginning you are rooting for them both together and individually.

Another time!" She bolted away, clutching the boxes of pads as she wove in and out of the crowd, her heart pounding in her chest. When she'd woken up this morning, she would never have guessed she would be pulled away from her cozy workspace and dragged to a tech conference, only to wind up on the run from her ex, with an armload of pads and her matchmaking auntie hot on her heels. Deep, warming, and as delicious as liquid caramel, the voice sent a tingle of electricity down her spine, and a jolt of recognition through her body as hard as the strong arms around her. Maybe there was a message here that wasn't getting through. She assessed the situation as if it were code and came up with: <>. It was the story of her life all over again. But overall, I’d 100% recommend it if you’re looking for something that’s light-hearted and will make you laugh. Her breath hitched and her lips softened. His lips were firm and cool and tasted of coffee and something sweet. He slipped his tongue into her mouth and for a moment she thought her heart had stopped. But it didn't matter. Upside down, in front of her work colleagues, she was the woman she always wanted to be.She opened her mouth to speak but nothing came out. How did she express the maelstrom of emotions coursing through her veins? It had been ten years since she'd stood alone on the front steps of her house—in a bright pink prom dress, the corsage her father had bought her pinned to her shoulder—waiting for Liam to take her to the prom. Ten years since he'd disappeared, never to be seen again. How many times had she imagined this moment?
