With regard to the mono blade, I initially thought the same regarding the balance and vibrations, however I didn’t notice anything to worry about. When I was cutting the extremely long grass and the blade was somewhat covered with damp grass, you do notice a slight wobble as the mower starts up. As soon as it is up to speed there is no vibration. Is it easy to use? Most mowers should just need the handles attaching and the grass box assembling, with fabric bags simpler to construct than plastic box-style collectors. Switching between cutting heights should be easy. Some mowers need to be turned over and the entire axle moved, but a single lever simply moved through the range is ideal. This change is welcome as larger bags means that there’s less time spent carrying and emptying out clippings and more time spent taking a look around and appreciate the fruits of your labour. If that wasn’t enough then the bag also has a useful indicator flap that lets you know when the bin requires emptying (if you do somehow manage to fill it up). The Cordless Lawnmower 2.0 comes with a 50L grass bag which is more than enough to collect enough clippings for a 400m 2 garden (the area that this mower is rated up to). That's because there are few less compatible duos than a 240-volt electric cable and a fast-spinning blade, and with UK garden sizes ever shrinking, petrol mowers are just totally OTT for most people, especially in cities. We estimate that the whole cordless mowing process from getting it out of the shed to finishing the job is almost twice as fast as when using a corded model.

Overall, things have improved with the 2.0. The Falcon had a 36V battery which has been upgraded to a 48V one to provide more power. The new model has also gone on a diet, undergoing a 20% reduction in weight despite a 10L increase in grass box capacity. It is also on sale often enough that the price doesn’t always have to sting as much as the usual listed one if you keep your eyes peeled.Update May 2021 – Please note, There is now a new model of this Gtech cordless mower, a full review can be found here – Gtech CLM50 Lawnmower Review To prevent you from losing the key it is securely tied to the mower (although they can be replaced if needed for a reasonable fee). In comparison to the old Gtech Falcon that took almost 5 hours to charge, this is a massive improvement. Not only does that beat the older Gtech model but now competes very favourably with the likes of Bosch and Flymo. The run time of 40 minutes is the same as the old Gtech model and is very respectable for a cordless mower of this size.

The Gtech Cordless Lawnmower 2.0 is an impressive machine. It improves upon its predecessor in nearly every way while retaining all the positive attributes that made it such a brilliant product, most notably its hassle-free cordless operation. Transporting the Cordless Lawnmower to your shed or garage should be no problem at all as the carrying handle is large and conveniently placed. The height adjustment on this new Gtech Cordless Lawnmower 2.0 is very similar when compared to the older Gtech mower, the only change is a redesign of the handle that is conveniently large and easy to grip. As the grass was very long in places and strewn with silver birch leaves, I did find myself having to empty the grass box more regularly. I definitely noticed the benefits of the larger grass box, but still had to empty the lawn mower every three laps or so. Looking for something ultra-lightweight? Look no further than our Small Cordless Lawnmower SLM50. The perfect partner to your GT50 or HT50, our Small Cordless Lawnmower can be operated single-handedly and has two cutting heights to choose from. The Cobra MX51S80V is an exceptional cutter and powerful enough to scythe through even long damp grass without so much as a hiccup. Moreover, the motor speed increases automatically whenever the blade detects extra resistance. And for such a large model, it’s one of the quietest cordless models I’ve ever used.At 29 kilos, this mower isn’t light but the onboard single-speed self propulsion makes using it a breeze. That said, it doesn’t feel too unwieldy even when used without the self propulsion because it has nice big rubber wheels that help make it easy to push. Which this configuration you’re guaranteed a uniform height every time you mow and it’s easier to change the settings if you want to test different heights. Taking a look at the cutting edge
