Description

NUK Baby Bottles are made from different materials. The greatest tangible difference is between glass and plastic – both materials are very suitable for baby formula and breast milk. Here you can find some points to help you make your decision. To sterilise bottles and teats we recommend using steam, cold water sterilisation or a NUK Steam or NUK Microwave Steriliser. We do not recommend dishwasher sterilisation as this can cause material damage. Knowing exactly when baby's feed is at the right temperature can be a challenge. NUK First Choice+ baby bottles now have a built-in Temperature Control indicator located on the bottle's graduation marks that changes colour from blue to white when the bottle's contents are too hot (above the optimal feeding temperature of 37 degrees), so you can be sure your baby's milk is always at a comfortable drinking temperature. This bottle is the ideal choice for combined feeding* as the NUK orthodontic teat simulates the shape of a mother's nipple during breastfeeding which gives baby a natural and familiar drinking sensation. The innovative teat also minimises colics** thanks to the NUK Anti-Colic Air System that ensures a natural flow to help your baby drink without swallowing air. If the food is too hot, the normally blue indicator will turn white. Ideally, the food for feeding should have body temperature (37°C) and corresponds to the mean blue tone on the display. The new Temperature Control function is integrated in NUK First Choice + bottles made of polyamide and polypropylene. Licensed editions are excluded. If there is a little liquid left in the baglet, either just squeeze it out or leave it to dry. Never put the soother in a dishwasher. One cycle is enough to damage the material.

Rinse the soother with water if it is dirty. NUK Soother Chains or Ribbons are also practical, as a soother can then be attached to your child’s clothes. Now the soother definitely won´t fall on the floor again or get lost. This is purely a matter of “taste”. Both materials have their advantages. You can, of course, switch between teat materials. However, once children have their first teeth, we recommend the use of soothers made from latex as it is more bite-resistant than silicone. Carefully read warnings and instructions inside. Please retain product information and article/ LOT no. for future use. When preparing your baby’s formula, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and make sure that you use the right amounts of water and milk powder. If, after shaking the bottle, froth appears, then let the bottle stand for a while until the froth has dispersed. Whether a natural product or a special synthetic material, all NUK Teats are soft and adapt to the inside of a child’s mouth. Of course you can also switch between teat materials. In case you are unsure of which material is better for your child, you can let your child decide too: many accept only the one but not the other. NUK Silicone Teats are made from a high-quality synthetic material. The clear silicone material is easily cleaned and highly heat-resistant. Even direct sunlight or edible fats do not age the material. Silicone teats have a neutral taste and smell. However, silicone is slightly less bite and tear-resistant than latex. For this reason, NUK also uses firmer, more bite-resistant silicone material for the size 3 teat. Should a silicone teat have even small bite marks or other signs of damage, it should be replaced immediately. For reasons of hygiene and safety, it is generally recommended to replace all teats – whether latex or silicone – after 1-2 months.

This precise asymmetric shape has, to this day, been taken as a model for all NUK Teats and Soothers and has resulted in NUK being a key supplier to children’s hospitals throughout Europe. The teat should always be completely full of milk while feeding. Burping is also important after bottle or breastfeeding. Babies smoke too – during pregnancy and afterwards as well. Please do not smoke. The risk of cot death increases with every cigarette smoked in your house! The product range for alternatives without BPA is wide. Precisely which materials they are, we explain for you here: Source: Gemeinsame Elterninitiative Plötzlicher Säuglingstod (GEPS) Deutschland e.V. (German Joint Parent Cot Death Initiative) Polypropylene is a translucent, synthetic material, which is used by NUK for the manufacture of BPA-free baby bottles. Its smooth surface ensures that it is pleasant to touch. It is notably shatterproof and is even suitable for freezing. The NUK Anti-Colic Air System ensures a natural flow to help your baby drink without swallowing air.
