For more about Army of Darkness 4K and the Army of Darkness 4K Blu-ray release, see Army of Darkness 4K Blu-ray Review published by Neil Lumbard on October 17, 2022 where this Blu-ray release scored 5.0 out of 5.

the best elements of the presentation. The HDR was effectively utilized to great effect in several sequences in the film. The night skies and flames-of- Sam Raimi’s cult classic Army of Darkness arrives on 4K Ultra HD looking better than ever, along with three Blu-ray platters containing the three versions of the film. (Only the theatrical version is on 4K.) Shout! Factory ported over all of the excellent bonus features from their previous edition of the film. EDIT: Thanks for the info guys. Looks like I’m just going to need to patiently wait like everyone else.the most thrilling and memorable classics in cinema history. Director Sam Raimi ( Spider-Man, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of A horde of deadites lay siege to the Ultra HD fortress with an impressive HEVC H.265 encode that exceeds expectations and pretty much puts the previous Blu-ray release to shame. Coming from brand-new restoration and remaster of the original 35mm camera negatives, the native 4K transfer, approved by Raimi and cinematographer Bill Pope, showcases incredibly sharp details for a majority of the runtime with a few soft, blurry moments sprinkled throughout. However, most of those are associated with the optical effects, compositing and matte photography, so they are to be expected and easily forgiven. Otherwise, the individual hairs of the cast, the threading in the costumes and the tiny pebbles on the ground are discrete, and the small fractures and imperfections along the castle walls are plain to make out from a short distance. Facial complexions appear natural with an accurate peachy-rose tone in every actor and lifelike textures, revealing every pore, wrinkle and negligible blemish.

NEW 2022 4K Scan Of The Original Camera Negative Approved By Director Sam Raimi, Director Of Photography Bill Pope, And Editor Bob Murawski perfect for Ash and Sheila. Gearon did a great job with the designs on Army of Darkness and these characters come to life with moreengaging and exciting. The original score is well implemented in to the surround stage. Sound effects sound crisp and detailed – such as the

The cinematography by Bill Pope ( Spider-Man 2, The Matrix) is fantastic and one of the highlights of Army of Composer Joseph LoDuca ( Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys) provided Army ofDisc one is the only 4KUHD platter in the set. It has a glorious new 4K version of the film’s theatrical cut from 1992. The only bonus item is the theatrical trailer.

Universal mandated a happier ending rather than the original cataclysm, and while the latter is ironically funny, it’s a rare case where that choice doesn’t mangle the message or the theme. Ash delights in blasting a witch across his store’s aisles, swooning the girl in a pitifully non-epic, tepidly cliché kiss that embraces the asinine male ideal Army of Darkness built. It’s too ridiculous to be real, yet if all of Army of Darkness was a figment in Ash’s mind, the ludicrous confidence he shows fits right in. The director’s cut’s image quality fairs much, much better than it did in the past. For the original Anchor Bay DVD release, substandard footage was inserted into the theatrical version (for comparison, see the alternate opening and ending on the first disc, which is equivalent to its former quality). Although this seems to be a port of a transfer from original elements, it appears that a cleaner and more polished version was available. It isn’t completely perfect as grain levels from scene to scene are probably more uneven than any other version in this set, but the rest appears to be the same as the theatrical version in all other respects. No other information at this time, but we'll keep you posted if anything else comes up, including special features and release dates!

Shout! Factory’s Scream Factory imprint previously released Army of Darkness in a three-disc Blu-ray edition featuring the theatrical, director’s, and international cuts of the film, and now they’ve upgraded the theatrical version in 4K based on a new 4K scan approved by director Sam Raimi, director of photography Bill Pope, and editor Bob Murawski. The director’s cut doesn’t seem to have had any work to it, although the International cut features a 4K scan from the interpositive. and a great upgrade in 2160p. The HDR is well implemented and the experience was even more engaging as a result. produced Dino De Laurentiis ( Barbarella, Flash Gordon), Army of Darkness has an impressive sense of
