Juice features a hip and happening soundtrack from the golden era of Hip-Hop, but it's not particularly dazzling here. Reigning Best Picture winner Moonlight stood out for focusing on the kind of characters that remain underrepresented in the quarter-century since Juice. My all time favorite story rap goes to Boogie Down Productions- Loves Gonna Getcha and that song bumps! From the getgo details are exceptional as the film opens exploring the home life of each member of the crew, we see all of the intricate details in decore and clothing.

Juice raised quite a few eyebrows from alarmist critics, just as the James Cagney gangster films did many decades before. The others: Q (Omar Epps), an aspiring DJ; the wise and protective Raheem (Khalil Kain); and the tubby Street Fighter junkie Steel (Jermaine Hopkins). It’s a curse of immersing the film in an era that was iconic for it’s over the top culture that gave rise to a whole host of rap icons. And not just in club moments, some of your average dialogue sequences seem to prefer the presence of the music rather than the conversation of the character.

Initially, theatrical film opportunities came his way, like the 1996 Adam Sandler/Damon Wayans vehicle Bulletproof. This film is one of the classics starring the great Tupac Shakur in his first starring role and doesn't fail to impress with the quality as an actor and with the supporting roles of Omar Epps. You’ve Got the Juice Now—A look back at the making of the film featuring interviews with director Ernest R. One by one he starts taking out the remaining friends and witnesses, leaving only Q and he left to confront each other in a standoff that will only allow one to leave alive.

In the past 10 years at Why So Blu, Brandon has amassed over 1,500 reviews of 4K, Blu-ray and DVD titles. Rather than remix for Dolby Atmos or DTS:X, Paramount has simply repurposed the existing DTS-HD Master Audio 5. With Volume 4 of THE ACCELERATORS and Volume 3 of ANNE BONNIE, plus the release of KNIGHTS OF THE 5TH DIMENSION and our yet to be announced fifth title. But shining even brighter than him is Shakur, who makes a substantial impact as a raw and natural presence. Omar Epps proved himself a rising star with this one, and Tupac Shakur is amazingly visceral in his performance.Dickerson’s commentary is a great listen as he covers a lot of ground about working with the cast, on location in Harlem, and of course the end of the film.

point that the movie takes on a life of its own, even as its fundamentals feel borrowed from other films. You’ve Got the Juice Now (HD, 19:12) – A retrospective look back exploring where this film came from, with new interviews and behind-the-scenes footage from the time. It's another one like Shout's Halloween that has a MASSIVE extension layer but drops down badly when dealing with the brighter parts of the image and that's not a good sign, it's like the authoring house has switched to a different software package or adopted different settings or something, prolly gets the job done quicker but it knackers it in the process?

What his father's deal was, being bullied and threatened all the time, needing a crew just to walk the street, getting guns waved in his face on a regular basis, and how seeing someone they knew get killed right after getting released must have effected him. Just as the classic-era films noir of the 1940s and 1950s were confined by the parameters of the Hays Production Code, this movie makes a concession to studios during a late character demise, but we the viewers still get the message loud and clear.
