So I told her parents that she wasn’t much of a stepmother and that dating my dad before my mom had even died wasn’t something a good person would do. However I did enjoy Emma Robinson's family drama about secret's and how they can destroy relationships and families.

Also, I don't believe children, especially older children, should be kept in the dark about serious matters like this.I need to be very careful in writing this review as I really don't want to spoil anything for future readers so I will try my best to give as much detail in my review without going to in depth as to give too much away. Emma enjoys writing stories which explore the power of family and friendship in the most challenging circumstances.

Gabbie, who is carrying a secret that forced her to flee her family home, must confront her feelings towards her stepmother, whom she has always resented. My Stepmother's Secret is the first Emma Robinson book that I've read and I plan to read more of her books. I always enjoy when books are set in the UK as I'm from Wales and have sometimes visited areas mentioned in the book. Robinson's latest novel, My Stepmother's Secret, is an exceptional piece of writing that had me hooked from the start. Through Gabby’s journey, we see how keeping secrets can damage relationships and how forgiveness can heal wounds and bring people closer together.

I have in fact visited England on many occasions including this year so am looking forward to possibly recognising name places. Gabbie grew up idolising her mum and was devastated to lose her in a car accident when she was thirteen, already packed off to boarding school a year earlier, and with no friends, she was struggling so when her dad seemed to swiftly move on with her mum's friend Jill, Gabbie grew up despising them both.
