One evening, while making out with his girlfriend Amy (Amanda Bearse) and watching the late night creature feature series Fright Night on television, teenager Charley Brewster (William Ragsdale) spots what he thinks is a coffin being loaded into the vacant house next door. For all that, when Jerry’s threat has been disposed of, it’s back to the status quo: The final scene finds Charley and Amy in his bedroom, mid-embrace, while (in an amusing touch) a voice on the television informs us that we’re right back where we started. For this UHD edition, Sony has rolled out an awesome collection of new and legacy bonus features, all of which are spread across the two accompanying Blu-ray discs. While fans go ape shit over novelizations, it’s rare for even a boutique distributor’s release to touch on something this obscure.

The first thing one will notice on this release is the improved contrast, resulting in darker blacks, and a more perceived depth in the image than on the previous domestic Blu-ray releases. Tom Holland’s cult favorite Fright Night makes its UHD debut in this three-disc set from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Von mir 5 von 5 Sterne- weil der Film alles richtig macht und deshalb auch eine klare Kaufempfehlung von meiner Seite. Released at a time when theater screens were flooded by depictions of meaningless violence and gore inflicted by some crazed maniac, Tom Holland's Fright Night serves as a witty tongue-in-cheek homage to classic horror cinema. It also takes its time telling its story, never rushing through it but allowing for key moments to play perhaps less efficiently, but more effectively.

With amusing, tongue-in-cheek performances by the entire cast, Tom Holland's Fright Night is a highly-entertaining and clever homage to classic horror cinema.

Also not included from the Twilight Time 30th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray release is an isolated score audio track and an 8-page insert booklet with liner notes by Julie Kirgo. It’s an outstanding presentation, organic to its source with high levels of detail and a thoroughly refined grain structure. When Charley can't get anybody to believe him, he turns to TV horror host Peter Vincent (Roddy McDowall), who used to be the "Great Vampire Killer" of the movies. Attempts were made by some smaller based companies like Scream Factory but all attempts lead us to yet another dead end. The biggest hang-up for fans is going to be a minor alteration during the club scene in which Dandrige seduces and dances with Amy. In fact, those films of yesteryear were heavily dependent upon those key features for generating frights, not just in-your-face brutality, bloodshed and a barrage of jump scares.

Colours are rich and vibrant where necessary, while never looking artificial and there's a lot shadow detail.By the time I was old enough to slip it past my Mom, I was all up for it and it's remained a favorite ever since. Round Table with Tom, Stephen and William (upscaled 1080i; 16:33): Tom Holland, Stephen Geoffreys, and William Ragsdale reflect on their experiences making the movie. For Playback in 4K with HDR, you need a 4K UHD TV with HDR, an Ultra HD Blu-ray™ player and high-speed HDMI 2. aspect ratio, courtesy of Paramount Pictures (later "officially” released in Germany, courtesy of '84 Entertainment ). RLJ Entertainment has revealed their August slate, which is set to include Harry Wild: Series 1 (DVD), Ride with Norman Reedus: Season 3 (DVD), Ride with Norman Reedus: Season 4 (DVD), Cow (Blu-ray and DVD) and White Elephant (Blu-ray and DVD) on 8/2, followed by One Land Bridge: Series 2 (DVD) and Nitram (Blu-ray and DVD) on 8/9, Firebite: Season 1 (Blu-ray and DVD), Hidden Assets: Series 1 (DVD), Night’s End (DVD), and Paris, 13th District (Blu-ray and DVD) on 8/16, Too Close: Season 1 (DVD) and Murder at Yellowstone City (Blu-ray and DVD) on 8/23, and 61st Street: Season 1 (Blu-ray and DVD) and Signora Volpe: Series 1 (DVD) on 8/30.

While this doesn’t have a bombastic soundtrack, the audio track helps create an immersive experience for FRIGHT NIGHT, especially a nightclub sequence. With that said, I’m dedicating the rest of my efforts here to the jam-packed assortment of special features in its 4K UHD release. Outside of including TV and radio spots and additional production and promotional still galleries, everything is accounted for.Geils Band music video Fright Night (in both English and Spanish), on-set interviews with the cast and crew, and TV-safe clips from the movie.
