An EQ can be used to feed the bass of the JBL T110 , we don’t think they need it but it is up to your preferences, as a result bass gets noticeably stronger but everything else gets recessed (mids and vocals, mostly)

Mids are recessed but not excessively. Mostly you will feel the recession on lower mids and lower vocals but they do not sound too muddy. Harshness is not an issue with the JBL T110. An eq will help to clear up vocals a bit but with slight boxiness. Although the JBL T110 are part of the budget line, JBL has not cheaped out on quality materials and design.We put the JBL T110 under our extreme bass test and they were able to handle 45% of the maximum power of a Fiio E12 portable amplifier (amplifier set to high gain, bass boost on and using a custom basshead equalizer). The test resulted in a slight basshead impact and rumble, pretty respectable for such a budget and small iem, you can expect a basshead performance way above the KZ ATE, Xiaomi Mi Pro HD and the Remax RM-565i but below the smaller brother the JBL C100SI and way below some heavyweights as the Sony MDR-XB50AP, Pioneer SE-CX8, Pioneer SE-CX9, Vots QT100, Sony MDR-7550/800ST, Plextone X41M or Senfer 4in1.

The JBL T110 have a very fun bass response, mid-bass is punchy and energetic and even sub-bass has pretty good depth. The JBL are able to warm up sound and provide enough energy to music without making the whole sound muddy or too congested. The housing of the T110 is very small and made of plastic but feels solid and well finished, the cable is flat tangle-free and robust with an inline microphone and 1 button control, the stereo plug has a less often 45° degree.The size is similar to the Sennheiser CX200 , JBL C100SI , Somic MH403, sort of near to some microdriver earphones such as the Remax RM-565i, UiiSii Hi-705, KZ HDS3 and way smaller than some standard sized earphones such as the Xiaomi Mi Quantie Pro Hybrid , Xiaomi Mi Pro HD , Plextone X41M, KZ EDR2, Elephone E1 or the Songful F2. The JBL are able to warm up sound and provide enough energy to music without making the whole sound muddy or too congested.
