Montale's Starry Night has been available since 2015 and has earned quite a following. Pierre Montale is the nose behind this memorable classic. Fragrances are grouped according to the proportion of volatile oils they contain. Eaux de parfum, like this, normally have between 15-20%. This lasts all day long with just a few dabs, but it also means that they are frequently the most expensive to acquire. As the Layers Peel Away The name is somehow also program...because with a starry night I also associate something fresh, but which also brings a touch of romance and mystery! Just like this Montale :) It's mildly pleasant, overall, but not quite a match for me---it's distinct from many Montales and floral offerings but it's nonetheless still a little too feminine on my skin.

One would not have thought! But it is like this!As it is fresh and yet soft and powdery, I find it wearable for the summer ;) but it would also fit well at other seasons, as it is not ONLY fresh!

This Montale begins unusually fresh and at first not at all soooo heavy, as one is used to from Montale... FIRST! Florientals (the word is a portmanteau of floral+oriental) are voluptuous but lighter than pure orientals. They combine (very often white) flowers with warm notes like sandalwood, orris and amber. When this particular product is first applied, lemon, bergamot and apple come to the fore. Next the heart of patchouli, rose and jasmine moves in. At last a billow of white musk climbs to sharpen the olfactory experience. If you're exploring this signature, Parfums de Marly Layton might please you as well. This definitely leans feminine on my skin, more so due to the jasmine than the rose, but it's unisex enough to work for men and women alike. This strikes me as versatile enough to be worn in both the summer and winter alike, as there are softer/fresher elements (rose, bergamot, musk) and the comparatively heavy-handed patchouli and jasmine. Mainly it's a slightly warm weather leaning fragrance but with close to Montale's typical density of the cold weather beasts with which the house mainly seems to be associated.
