The members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad are all named after snakes. Bill drives a De Tomaso Mangusta. "Mangusta" is Italian for "Mongoose" which are well-known for their ability to fight and kill venomous snakes, particularly cobras. Stunt Double: Zoë Bell was Uma Thurman's stunt double. She really sliced a baseball in half with a samurai sword. Shin'ichi Chiba makes katanas in real life. In the movie, his character Hattori Hanzo is a renowned katana maker who has taken a blood oath to never create an instrument of death again.

The line that O-Ren and The Bride speak together in the House of Blue Leaves - "Silly rabbit / Trix are for kids" - refers to an advertising slogan for breakfast cereal. It is also a cryptic reference to The Bride's name, which in Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004) is revealed to be Beatrix Kiddo. Tarantino conceived Kill Bill as an homage to the 1973 film Lady Snowblood, grindhouse cinema, martial arts films, samurai cinema, blaxploitation and spaghetti Westerns. It features an anime sequence by Production I.G. Volume 1 is the first of two Kill Bill films made in a single production. They were planned as a single release, which Tarantino split into two films to avoid having to cut scenes. Volume 2 was released six months later. The Bride's yellow outfit is the same outfit worn by Bruce Lee in his final film, Game of Death (1978). The Bells" sign seen on the letterbox at the beginning of Chapter One was given to Uma Thurman's stunt double Zoë Bell by Quentin Tarantino. Bell presented it to her parents, The Bells. Approval of God: Some Norwegian amateur actors decided to make a parody of the film titled "Kill Buljo". It became a success in Norway, and Tarantino himself enjoyed it greatly.

Fake Mixed Race: The half-Japanese, half-French Sophie Fatale is played by the fully French Julie Dreyfus. Likewise, the half-Japanese, half-Chinese American O-Ren Ishii is played by the fully Chinese-American Lucy Liu. In Hattori Hanzo's sushi restaurant, there is a 4-character Chinese saying hanging above the bar. It says "zui sheng meng si," literally "drunk birth, dream death." A rough meaningful translation is "To lead an unimportant and often dissipated life." Bill calls The Bride by her last name, Kiddo, in the film's opening scene. The audience, not knowing her last name, is meant to assume it is simply a term of endearment. After its use in Kill Bill, the Pussy Wagon made one other appearance in the entertainment world – when Tarantino loaned it to Lady Gaga and Beyoncé for their music video for “Telephone” in 2010. In the video, the pair hit the road in the vehicle while on a killing spree. The music video made for ‘Telephone’ seems to share its general aesthetic with that of a classic Quentin Tarantino movie. In 2010, Gaga discussed the connections between Tarantino and the ‘Telephone’ production. “There certainly is a Tarantino-inspired quality in the video,” she said. “I mostly love the way he uses different forms to create something new.”

Uma Thurman said initially no to wearing the famous ‘Kill Bill’ tracksuit
