The story of Babel is structured symmetrically, with verses 1–4 and 6–9 forming the two main parts of the story and also framing the turning point of the narrative in verse 5. Indeed, these two parts also illustrate the contrasting elements of the story and, as a result, highlight it’s the key tension. The first half, verses 1–4, tells of humanity’s intention for unity through uniformity in both language and place. The second, verses 6–9, details the Divine intention for plurality within the human population, represented by the division of language and dispersal upon the face of the earth. At the centre stands verse 5, wherein the gaze of God turns toward the work of human beings and witnesses the success of their project of longevity. Structurally, then, the narrative holds uniformity in tension with diversity, the human will in tension with that of the Divine. May the Almighty God have mercy on me, and forgive me my sins, and bring me to everlasting life. Amen. My disbelief in the doctrine of predestination is primarily philosophical. If God, through sovereign decisions, predestines some to salvation and some to damnation, then surely He is the ultimate source of sin and suffering. Furthermore, if a person also believes that hell consists of everlasting torment (which I do not believe), the problem is greatly compounded: God considers guilty those who never had a choice in the first place and punishes them with a punishment immeasurably disproportionate to the sins that they committed and over which they had no choice. Why entreat the Lord for protection if all things had been predestined from the beginning? Such an entreaty makes sense only in the context of the battle between good and evil. The disciples know that they can gain victory only if the Lord intervenes on their behalf, and so they entreat Him to do as much.

O LORD, in the multitude of Thy mercies, I will enter into Thy house, and worship Thee in Thy holy temple, and praise Thy Name. What then can be said about the actions of God to divide and disperse? Is this not punishment? Simply stated, if there is no expressed disobedience on the part of humanity in the text, there is no reason to understand God’s actions as punishment. Rather, the narrative articulates contrasting intentions for life in the world, that of humanity for geographic stability (a state enabled by a shared language) and that of the Divine for linguistic and geographic diversity. The narrative gives no indication of God’s motivation, but such a desire on the part of God in the primeval history is of no surprise to the reader, given the divine imperative in Genesis 1:28, repeated in 9:7, to “be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.” Indeed, the Table of Nations, directly preceding our tale in Genesis 10:1–32, provides an alternative accounting of the fulfillment of God’s intention through the descendants of Noah. Last but not least is the evidence from the context. Space does not permit a full contextual discussion of the texts of predestination, but a few points

In ancient Greece, divine intervention was frequently sought from the gods of the pantheon of Greek mythology, which contained accounts of such intervention. In The Iliad, substantial attention is given to the involvement of Zeus and Poseidon involving themselves on the side of either the Greeks or the Trojans in the Trojan War— engaging in miraculous acts, changing the weather, or bolstering the strength of combatants to aid their preferred side. [2] May the most just, most high, most adorable will of God be in all things done, and praised, and magnified forever. Abstract

Divine Intentions for Mind Body and Soul offers alternative therapeutic modalities to assist you through a balanced approach to your daily life. We offer a combination of modalities that assist you in achieving that mind, body and soul symmetry. Whole body vitalizing methods with sound therapies, energy healing, vibration bowl therapy, meditation and much more. All of our services are provided in the comfort of your home! Yes, we travel to you! All mankind, especially sinners; the souls of priests and religious; all devout and faithful souls; those who do not believe in God and those who do not yet know Jesus; the souls who have separated themselves from the Church; the meek and humble souls and the souls of little children; the souls who especially venerate and glorify His mercy; the souls detained in purgatory; and souls who have become lukewarm. Choices such as those of this young, Chipewyan mother highlight the importance of language as a cultural identity marker, one which shapes persons and communities as distinct unto themselves. Yet, such markers have not often been celebrated and protected in nation states like Canada. Rather the colonial project has sought and continues to seek ‘progress’ and control by enforcing uniformity through the erasure of differences such as language use.

The Chaplet can be said anytime, but the Lord specifically asked that it be recited as a novena. He promised, "By this Novena (of Chaplets), I will grant every possible grace to souls." Intentions For each of the nine days, our Lord gave Saint Faustina a different intention: Researching Korthian Relics - To start it you need to find in drop Researching Korthian Relics rare are giving more chance %. The word translated “predestined” in Romans 8:29, 30 and in the other relevant texts is the Greek verb proorizō, a compound word made up of the preposition pro (“before”) and the verb orizō (“appoint, decide, determine”). The cognate noun proorismos does not appear in the Bible but will be briefly discussed, for this word is relevant. Etymologically, neither word denotes predestination of the type understood by Calvin or Augustine and their followers. The focus of both is intention rather than result, as we will see below. My Jesus, I believe that Thou art present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love Thee above all things, and I desire to receive Thee into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive Thee sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace Thee as if Thou wert already there and unite myself wholly to Thee. Never permit me to be separated from Thee. Amen. You, too, can make a novena of prayer for these intentions and others, especially by praying the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy or by participating in our current novena.

All is Thine, dispose of it wholly according to Thy will. Give me Thy love and Thy grace, for this is sufficient for me. Amen. The United Nations has declared 2019 the International Year of Indigenous Languages. A year for increased recognition and for the mobilization of stakeholders for collective action around the globe, allowing for the preservation of endangered languages and the cultural identities tied to them. [5] Particular action steps will look different in each context, but I suspect that in Canada the preservation of Indigenous languages will mean a recognition of their place in the already bilingual nation state as national languages with cultural and societal value—in the spirit of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action—and the subsequent use of such languages on government documentation such as birth certificates. [6] Perhaps aligning ourselves with the Divine intention enacted at Babel and affirmed at Pentecost will mean that we stand together with those who lobby our governments for recognition and who work for language preservation. If all had been predestined before, then the entreaty carries no meaning. By contrast, if we understand proorizō to refer to intention, to God’s plan for the salvation of humanity, then the words of Jesus take on an amazing depth, reflecting His own unyielding commitment to the salvation of humankind. Jesus first agreed to the plan when it was laid out before the foundation of the world (Rev. 13:8).
