The Immortals of Meluha" by Amish takes readers on a mesmerizing journey back to 1900 BC, exploring the land of Meluha during the Indus Valley Civilization. It is only because of my strict principle of finishing a book I start, no matter how horrible it is, that I managed to drag myself to the last page. It felt like a really long bedtime story that you simply read for the sake of reading and maybe, falling asleep.

In January 2012, Karan Johar's Dharma Productions bought the film rights of The Immortals of Meluha. There he meets the priest from whom he comes to know about the karma, his fate, and his choices in life, which will guide him. Meluha is a near perfect empire, created many centuries earlier by Lord Ram, one of the greatest kings that ever lived.

However, I think he should have chosen the topics for a book that did not portray a mythological character.He is accompanied by Sati, Veer Bhadra, Krittika,Nandi,Brahaspati and Parvateshwar on his journey across the land of Meluha. Tripathi portrayed Shiva, Sati, Nandi differently, but to make it more "interesting", he wove in about 5 different social issues in present-day India for seemingly to educate the society. And while that is a sad fact, it is also a fact that Amish deserves the attention and accolades he got.
