On tonality, both have a U-shaped sound signature, Aria focuses more on sub bass rather than mid bass, a more recessed and even leaner midranger which gives a less dynamic sound and even an odd presentation which has an emphasis on the upper mids then a sloped and dips on presence to brilliance region which gives a less brighter and subdued sparkle which affects the detail and clarity. Warm-sounding source and amps did nothing for this EA500. It sounds cold and sterile no matter what I toss at it, so your source won’t matter.
