Tan explains the reasoning behind core feng shui principles and encourages the reader to adapt based on what feels best individually. I’ve been interested in the concept ever since Tik Tok and this book did a great job of breaking down the principles and applying them to modern circumstances.Great book about the modern, practical aspects of feng shui and how you can use it as guidelines to make a home feel more like home.

If you step straight into your living room, try and create the illusion of an entry space by using a screen or table of flowers to divert the chi flow.If you must have a chandelier, never place it over the sofa, it will feel threatening and spiky hanging over your head, try the coffee table instead. Great book overall, informative, concise, easy read and great illustrations which did not distract from the content.

This is the key to unlocking the power of this ancient practice: once you understand the logic, your application of feng shui will work every time. Some rules might not just be relevant in your home, it’s really more about a sensible approach to living well.I wasn’t a fan of the amount of white space which felt like an attempt at making the book artificially longer. While I think this book was so helpful that I will likely get the physical book from the library to go over certain aspects again and maybe take some notes, the parts where he talked about where to place toilets and other things that would have to happen in the building stage of a house or in an expensive, extensive remodel are not so much relevant to me.
