There is humour here which I loved. The humour comes through the characters – for example the fox always doing things reluctantly when everyone else is most enthused – and through unexpected things happening – the worm showing up and delivering a line just because – and through the art – Fatcat with the one expression – and so on. Also the story was better than the first Billy book for me (Billy and the Beast).

Geoffrey's got the jitters! It started last night when he was thinking about school - a funny, wiggly feeling in his tummy that grew and grew. But when Geoffrey's tummy jitters started talking to him - that's when he knew they were out of control. Geoffrey had to do something...The second in Nadia Shireen’s Billy books is as delightful as the first. Shireen’s comic timing is first class, and her characters are full of brilliant wide-eyed, hilarious expressions while remaining cuddly, relatable and full of comforting warmth. It’s great to see a brown girl knight defeating the dragon, too. I haven't met a child who didn't LOVE these books. Sweet, funny, odd in a life-affirming way’ – Caitlin Moran It's a great story for everyone, especially those not used to seeing themselves centre-stage'- The Guardian on Billy and the Beast

It’s another Bookwagon day in our house. The kids were so excited to get their latest books in the post. Shireen’s latest book confirms her as one of the brightest and best picture book creators working in Britain today... Home > I love the whimsy and characters in this. The fox is great for a one-liner. And the throw-away worm, as it were. Pitch perfect.I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly!

Despite the hesitation of her fellow partygoers, and the difficult terrain through which Fat Cat has been carried, Billy is undeterred. She won’t stop for pudding! First, a tree. How can Billy get to the top of a very tall tree to rescue Fat Cat? Ideas anyone? The ending to the story was just fabulous and I was so happy with it! It was an ending that fitted with the book perfectly + we also get why the dragon did that to FatCat. Billy and her animal friends are enjoying a party when a dragon swoops down and grabs Fatcat. How will Billy save him? Fortunately, Billy has a great brain and a plan! And maybe the dragon isn’t such a baddy after all! A story with a twist.

All in all, a very fun adventurous story featuring dragons, parties, and more! I would recommend it!
