The room is quiet as Evelyn lets herself hear her own words. And then she smiles, a bright, wide, deeply sincere smile. She starts laughing to herself and then refocuses on me. “I feel like I spent my entire life loving her.” Do you understand what I'm telling you? When you're given an opportunity to change your life, be ready to do whatever it takes to make it happen. The world doesn't give things, you take things. If you learn one thing from me, it should probably be that.” The novel tells the story of fictional Hollywood star Evelyn Hugo, She tells her life story to reporter Monique Grant. At age 79, with all of her close family and ex-husbands dead, Evelyn is ready to reveal the true story of her life, which she has hidden from the public for decades. Our article is about age rating and parents guide and in this article, we have written age rating and parents guide of The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo.

Over the course of the novel, film legend Evelyn Hugo tells her life story to reporter Monique Grant. At the age of 79, with all her close family and ex-spouses dead, Evelyn is ready to reveal the true story of her life, which she has hidden from the public for decades.Monique eventually publishes the introduction for her biography in Vivant, finally disclosing that the true love of Evelyn's life was none of her seven husbands, but rather Celia St. James. And perhaps my favorite part was the messaging around the importance of actual love in relationships, rather than just a willingness to try. After reading this book I felt very good about how this girl has brought her hidden story to the world.

But I think, despite its marketing, this book is really about Evelyn. Awful, complicated, completely lovable Evelyn. Evelyn is a flawed, compelling, brave, ambitious woman who got to where she was with teeth and claws and never gave up. She is also, and I’m not even joking, one of the most iconic characters I have ever had the pleasure of reading about. She is a woman with a lot of ambition but also one who loves and wants to be loved. She is such a good character. Aside from Evelyn, Harry Cameron was truly the best thing about this entire book! <33 I loved this man so much and I think he’s an angel! He was always respectful and supportive and even more important he accepted Evelyn exactly the way she was. I loved that he and Evelyn always tried to solve every problem together and I hated to see him so sad after the death of John. T_T Harry’s grief broke my heart and even though he was drinking way too much he never did anything stupid. I mean he never hurt Evelyn or got frustrated with her, he only tried to compensate his grief without hurting anyone else in the process. Even when it came to this he was considerate and kind. =(( Poor Harry, though. It made me so damn sad that he had to go and I admit it, I actually shed some tears when he died. T_TEvelyn Hugo follows Monique Grant leaving New York and making her way to LA to join the industry, her 7 husbands along the way, and tales of gossip, rumors, relationships, debauchery, and forbidden love. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo Review I’m Evelyn.” She reaches out and takes my hand, shaking it. It strikes me as a unique form of power to say your own name when you know that everyone in the room, everyone in the world, already knows it.” There were a tremendous amounts of very quotable quotes, and this was one of those rare books that you hope never has to end. It’s brilliant! It’s unputdownable, addictive, heartfelt time travel in Hollywood. Author’s genuine approach to LGBTQ was better reflected than Ryan Murphy’s Hollywood limited series on Netflix.

Reid released the book cover and an excerpt of the book in Entertainment Weekly on December 6, 2016. [4] An actor and Evelyn’s first love and second husband. Charming and forceful, Don falls for Evelyn but starts abusing her early in their marriage. Jealous of Evelyn’s success and gripped by traditional gender expectations, Don pushes Evelyn to quit acting and start a family. Years after Evelyn divorces Don for his infidelity and abuse, the two make peace and star in a film together.

3. It's a stunning and honest queer historical romance.

and i'm not saying that this doesn't happen in real life. but after the first time this kind of thing happens, i could like to see the characters grow and learn how to cope like adults. because i'm only 24 and even i don't pull those kinds of stunts with my boyfriend. cause i'm not 16 anymore.

Stapley, Melissa. "Review: Roz Nay's Our Little Secret, Julia Fierro's The Gypsy Moth Summer and Taylor Jenkins Reid's The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" . Retrieved 21 February 2018.you could have been a teacher. i could have been a nurse. we could have made it easier on ourselves that way.” i could feel celia shaking her head next to me. “but that’s not who we are, that’s not who we have ever been or could ever be.” Her love for Celia throughout the years truly made this wildly unbelievable story cinch for me. Honestly, her relationship with Celia People think that intimacy is about sex. But intimacy is about truth. When you realize you can tell someone your truth, when you can show yourself to them, when you stand in front of them bare and their response is 'you're safe with me'- that's intimacy.”
