If you are looking for some worthy drama between kidnapper and his captive, I suggest you to read The Collector instead. I bought this book AGES ago but I didn't want to read it because I knew how it ended. And I didn't mind this didn't have a HEA , I just lost the interest because I know what would happen. Anyway, Basuhi read it last week and she loved it so I thought it was time to give it a try, even if YA is not a genre I read a lot lately.

Lucy Christopher | Books - Wales Arts Review Release by Lucy Christopher | Books - Wales Arts Review

I am from Vanuatu and I have just started reading “Stolen” 2 days ago and finished it today! I bought it at one of our second hand shops here that sells books as well. Also, a million hugs to Vanessa, for sending me a signed copy of FLYAWAY all the way from England. Thank you so much. I love you.Gemma..sweet Gemma... Gemma who made a mistake... She is the type of the girl which is persistent, not a quitter and still hopeful... I have to applaud her for being one of the strongest heroines ever, even when she herself never felt that way. She was full of courage and she never stopped fighting... She was scared, and i was scared with her. Flyaway is written in such fluid prose that it takes you right into the heart of Isla’s world. I felt like I was watching the swans with Isla and her dad, riding to the hospital with her in the middle of the night and sitting with her while she started to make the best school project in history. Lucy Christopher captured an air of sadness with her soft, subtle prose. But it is also a novel filled with hope and magic. Not Harry Potter magic, but the true magic of love, friendship and family.

RELEASE - a new Thriller from Lucy Christopher - Out Now RELEASE - a new Thriller from Lucy Christopher - Out Now

With the help of her grandfather, Isla constructs swan wings that she can wear to teach her swan how to fly, reporting on her progress to both her father and to Harry. As the book approaches its denoument, readers have three “patients” about whom to worry: Isla’s much-loved dad, the infectiously optimistic Harry, and the faithful and intrepid swan. Lucy is clearly a master of imagery. I knew this from some stunning scenes in , but she really cemented herself as a favourite after Flyaway. Some of the most stand out images for me are Isla and Harry teaching their swan to fly and when Isla’s Dad tells her the myth of the swansong. I won’t spoil it and tell you what it is, but it’s truly special and I still catch myself thinking about it over a week after finishing it. I don't know if I had too many expectations or if it started so well I thought it could end as well as the beginning, but this story let me down pretty badly. The ending... oh boy that ending. I just didn’t want it to end there. I NEED MORE!!! Yes I was crying, crying like a little baby... After the kiss Gemma and Ty shared, I really had hope she would try to get him out of this, but the ending didn’t show that happening. :( Every single part of the landscape and every single animal was a character of this book. The story with the Camel was maybe the kind of story that Ty was expecting to have with Gemma. His “baby steps” worked with the Camel… Though most of this is a result of brilliant writing, a lot it also comes from the talented narrator of the audio book.
