Description

Mendoza is Argentina’s foremost wine producing province and the heart of its wine trade. More than 80% of all Argentinian wine is produced is this province. Divided in five sub regions, Mendoza features an enviable array of grape varieties, soils and altitudes (from 500 to 1800m above sea level), as well as a very long, dry and mild autumn making it a winemaker’s paradise. Viñedos & Viticultura Patagonia is an exciting new region for Argentine wine, and clearly has huge potential. Here the climate is significantly cooler, giving fresher wines with a more elegant, almost old world style. The wine is made to capture the beautiful purity of the grapes and get as much of that flavour as possible into the bottle. A beautiful and elegant wine with aromas of violets and liquorice. Soft and well balanced with some hints of vanilla. This wine is a perfect example of a true Malbec from Patagonia. Vineyards & Viticulture The Valley de Uco is probably one of the most exciting regions of Mendoza, with the highest altitude vineyards (1,700m above sea level) and an impressive terroir. Our Cabernet and Malbec grapes come from high-quality massal-selected vineyards. Our Viñalba vineyards are trained in ‘espaldera’ (hedge) with Vertical Shoot Positioning (VSP), non high-vigour. We use natural flooding for controlling vigour and sun exposure to produce high-quality grapes. Winemaking

This is a relatively new wine-making region with vineyards being planted from 1980s onwards. Fast becoming an important, prestigious and highly sought after area, Hervé and Diane have already planted more vineyards in the Gualtallary area of this region. Patagonia has ideal conditions for slow ripening. The climate is cooler than in Mendoza giving fresher wines with a more elegant, almost old world style. This wine is made to capture the beautiful purity of the grapes and get as much of that flavour as possible into the bottle. With delicate aromas of dark berries, violets and a note of menthol, this wine is soft and well-balanced with great purity of fruit, Perfect partner to grilled meat, steak or roasted vegetables.
